Jay Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 is anyone actually into this crap? I watched this last night and what a load of rubbish to think Lovejoy gave up soccer am a respected and much loved programme to host this joke. While Lovejoy saying we have to pick a MLS club to follow because it's cool is just plain wrong and I am sure he's probably ashamed of this himself Now some of our American friends may enjoy this because they are having a go and it's all they have but the quality is terrible Not only is the football terrible conference level stuff with rubbish defenders, even worse goalkeepers it makes stars out of the likes of Paul Dalglish, Danny Dichio and Terry Cooke to think this has been given a prime time slot because Galaxy decided to sign a performing seal to take around the world for friendlies is just crazy
mancunianfox Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 I watched highlights of a galaxy match that finished 5-4 or 6-5. The atrocious defending infuriated me but I guess that high scoring games are the only way Americans will watch it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Bit like how some Americans might view NFL Europe I suppose.

Face it Beckham can't lose even if his "Mission to make soccer big in the States" fails he will have cleaned up big time.
act smiley Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 The match in question was filled with rubbish defending, true, but if you showed some of our "highlights" from last season to people I'm sure they'd put it in a similar bracket of crap. There's some reasonable quality there, Houston and New England are decent sides and some of the matches are pretty decent, just not the freakshow ones that they'd obviously stick on this kind of dodgy highlight show. As for the TV show, its no Sgorio.
Webbo Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 The odd bits I've seen Houston and DC United look quite good going forward, but as you say the defending is sh1t.
City_4_Life Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 The MLS do have some quality play, Have a look at this free kick for instance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECpv353fjkA
Lord Nibblington Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Bit like how some Americans might view NFL Europe I suppose. Which has now been put out of its misery. Or so I heard.
lildave3 Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Was watching New York the other night, was quite enjoyable tbh.

Jay Posted 2 August 2007 Author Posted 2 August 2007 The MLS do have some quality play, Have a look at this free kick for instance.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECpv353fjkA Certainly goes a long way to prove my point!!

Mack Posted 3 August 2007 Posted 3 August 2007 At last Lovewank has found his level "Come on the Police" He said... Yes come on the police arrest the gimp and send him to Cheese heaven!! Just like he got bored of waiting for his real team Watford to do something and defected to Chelsea a fully expect that loser to be screaming for the Galaxy just as long as he gets to make another cack ducumentary about Beckham and his bird....

He has obviously sold out and taken the better money to go to and talk about a League that his own show has taken the piss out of for years with "Boston Goals" and his non stop micky taking! Im gutted he has taken his mates with him who were the main assets of Soccer AM. He has spoiled an institution for shite footy.
Webbo Posted 8 August 2007 Posted 8 August 2007 Quite a good show tonight. Ricky Hatton was on good form and lovejoy was quite funny too.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 August 2007 Posted 8 August 2007 Is that Freddy Adu still big in MLS? Funnily enough I heard he has moved to Europe just today, can't remember where though.
lildave3 Posted 8 August 2007 Posted 8 August 2007 Benfica, I think. Bingo. Hard to live up to the hype when you've been billed as the future worlds best aged 12.
craigymc8 Posted 8 August 2007 Posted 8 August 2007 is that lovejoy's new project that 'were all gona love' jesus christ...
The Stig Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Lovejoy says on his Myspace that he quit Soccer AM then he got offered this job, I think its a great show! And Lovejoy is now mid week presenter of 6-0-6 on Five Live

And Lovejoy is now mid week presenter of 6-0-6 on Five Live Waking up on a sunday morning after a night on the pi** to see a modern day Footballing TV legend Tim Lovejoy jumping up and down with Cliff Richard and some geezer cooking some grub is not the way forward! Soccer AM was an institution and I have a feeling without him and his mates that the show will be worse for wear! Lets see what Saturday brings although I`ll only catch the first hour or so before departing for the match.
