City Lad Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Link I didn’t realise Hume’s goal was that good. Great pass from MDV
DB11 Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Their attacking was very good. Passing the ball around before placing it in the goal.
mancunianfox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 LinkI didn’t realise Hume’s goal was that good. Great pass from MDV It was good, especially as he alledgedly can't finish
Durnerz Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Was a great goal, Full backs looked non existant for their goals which is a worry.
Ric Flair Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Was a great goal, Full backs looked non existant for their goals which is a worry. Highlights the need for a specialist left back. I wouldn't mind so much if we were deadly going forward, like a lot of Allen's teams are. Therefore if your defence is dodgy, at least you're still capable of scoring enough goals to win matches.
Simi Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Woooooooooow that was bad defending! I thought the same! Although they are Premiership class some of those passes went through far too easily, hopefully it will be worked on this week.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I wouldn't say our goal was Hume's best ever finish, James seemed to dive out of the way Good pass from MDV
mancunianfox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Woooooooooow that was bad defending! I thought that when I saw them the other night. Having said that I would be very suprised if Stearman/McAuley/N'Gotty/Chambers is our back four next season. Didn't help that Nugent seemed so determined to win a pompey shirt for the first game of the prem season.

Stearman was poor. buying one left sided play would help as mattock can play left mid or left back.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 How can anyone call Paul Henderson a good shot stopper and keep a straight face
teblin Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 How can anyone call Paul Henderson a good shot stopper and keep a straight face Bacause everyone has different opinions??? I prefer hendo to logan to be honest.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 How can anyone call Paul Henderson a good shot stopper and keep a straight face He's not anything special but shocking defending for all three would be my main worry. We allowed them to pick their spot each time with no pressure on the ball whatsoever.
Simi Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 There first goal is a classic example of why it is risky playing Chambers at left back, he was drawn in side and left a gaping whole for there winger to cross. Henderson should of really saved there third as well.

We allowed them to pick their spot each time with no pressure on the ball whatsoever. True, hapless, would have been comical if it was anyone but LCFC, for all three goals. Why on earth did we let those balls come across the penalty box each time along the floor so easily?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 It's never nice seeing balls going straight across your 6 yard box unchallenged. Dissapointed with the goals, we will have to tighten that up pronto
AyewJoking Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 What is the point of signing Chambers if were going to play him out of position?
Pete_foxes Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 It was a good goal. MDV's pass superb. I never ever thought I'd be saying that Portsmouth passed the ball really well. Quick one touch football. You can definatly tell they were a premiership outfit. Maybe we should of closed down there shots better, something to work on.
wallin1704 Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 It was good, especially as he alledgedly can't finish if thats a dig at me i never said iain hume couldnt finish.. i just stated IN MY OPINION that i thought matty fryatt was more clinical and a better finisher.
Ziggy Lloyd Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 The defending looked sloppy considering we were supposed to have been working on our closing down, they had far too much time on the ball.
