Finnegan Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Titanically overhyped, though like Jack says, In Utero is a fantastic album. More time for Jane's Addiction and Pearl Jam, tbh.
hairy Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 For me Bleach was their album on the Sub Pop label before 'they went commercial' but overhyped, no. Overhyping it seems is something radio 1 can do to anyone or anything such as Kaiser Chiefs, Girls Aloud, Blur or Oasis. By the way, Tad were brilliant and Mudhoney were better but no one remembers them now. Screaming Trees sucked.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Of all the hundreds of CDs I've bought over the years I've only ever sold 4 of them (surprising given some of the shite I'm left with), and two of them were Nevermind and Incesticide. I liked them at the time but after a couple of years I thought that I'd never listen to them ever again. A bit like Oasis. It was great for a couple of years but the thought of listening to them now leaves me cold. I'm not anti-grunge...I can still listen to Dinosaur Jr

teblin Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 I'd say genius. But don't listen to them like i used too, but every now and again i play their albums and just remeber the effect the first time i heard them, no other band had the same effect. I prefered the "grunge" seen to the "britpop" anyway. Pearl Jam are still an awesome live band! For me Bleach was their album on the Sub Pop label before 'they went commercial' but overhyped, no. Screaming Trees sucked. Shhh Though agree with you about mudhoney they were a great band! I though Tad sucked personally.
