Flexx Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Starting in a min, Manchester Derby and Liverpool V Chelsea. Deffo not leaving my house today!!
Tommeh Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 This sunday will be super. Although last season I fell asleep in both Liverpool - chelsea games, please be better this season!
Nath Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Good, then Liverpool v Chelski 4.00PM Great day for football.
Simi Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Man U have come with a great game plan. The new foreigners City have bought in don't seem to be used to being kicked around a lot, every time one of them gets the ball either Scholes, Hargreaves or Carrick is there to give them a little kick or push. Edit : 1-0 Man City How the hell did Geovanni get that much room. Criminal
Flynny Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 I always said Sven was a tactical genius. I'm loving this, though. All the people who genuinely thought he was crap for not winning the world cup twice getting their noses rubbed in it.
Micky Ruddle Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Doesn't bother me in the slighest if Man City wins.
Simi Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 I would not like to be in the United dressing room now.
Geo V Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 I cant believe man city won that. Lucky. Very but I wont complain as I had money on City . BTW, how immense was Micah Richards??? What an athlete and what a player.
James. Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Very but I wont complain as I had money on City . BTW, how immense was Micah Richards??? What an athlete and what a player. Fair play to Sven moving him in to the middle. He was colossal. Although I wonder how that may affect his short-medium term England chances with that area one of our strongest.
MC Prussian Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Glad for Manchester City. But to be honest, it wasn't much of a surprise. Without Ronaldo and Rooney, it just ain't the same, as United was lacking enough drive forward. And the goal for City - what a beauty. On a sidenote, O'Grady scored another one for the Millers. Looks like he's doing really good in League 2. All the best to him.
James. Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Glad for Manchester City. But to be honest, it wasn't much of a surprise. Without Ronaldo and Rooney, it just ain't the same, as United was lacking enough drive forward. And the goal for City - what a beauty. I disagree. Firstly the goal was deflected. Wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for Vidic. And secondly I WAS surprised by the result. Man United dominated the game, drove forward constantly but were just missing an incisive final ball, whether it be a pass or a shot. Richards and Dunne were outstanding but even without Ronaldo and Rooney there was enough attacking flair to have avoided defeat, at least.
lildave3 Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Man City's defence was fantastic, especially Richards. Dunne, Corluka, Garrido and Ball when he came on were throwing themselves into tackles and defending tactically aswell. Brilliant.
Webbo Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Didn't see the game but I'm well chuffed with the result. And if ManUre dominated and still lost all the better.
Simi Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 As has been said Richards had a fantastic game and seemed to pop up everywhere at the right time. A lot of other people have said it, but I'm going to say it again, with Rooney being out for a while, Tevez wont score constantly without a big striker with him, or somebody that is more direct. The footage that was shown after the match really does show that he needs support up there.
Brainy Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Man City are going to do well this season if they perform like they did today. Dunne and Richards were immense. I was looking forward to see Man City but unfortunately I only saw their defensive work. They didn't attempt to get forward. The only way they were going to score was through luck or a scramble in the penalty area. Their passing was superb also. I think they need to strengthen in midfield. Hamann didn't impress, neither did Elano. When Hamann got forward he was walking and wasn't aware of who was around him. With Man Utd, its the 2nd time they've controlled a match and haven't scored. Giggs, Tevez and Brown were poor. Scholes got into good positions but nothing came of that, and Evra got involved quite a bit but was useless. You have to question Ferguson's substitutions. Campbell (who) on for Carrick? O Shea on for Scholes? Eagles on for Nani? Nani was Man Utd's best player by far. Campbell never got involved and Chris Eagles should not be playing for Man Utd. Man Utd will be hoping Liverpool will do them a favour by beating Chelsea. If they're 7 pts behind Chelsea by tonight then it's going to be very difficult to catch up. Yes its only three games but they'll be without Rooney for a few months and Ronaldo whilst he's out banned. Man Utd are going to have to start hitting the back of the net quickly.
Simi Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 What fecking game is Rob Styles watching?! Shocking decsion. Absolute joke.
Tommeh Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Rob Styles has lost the plot here. Booking every player in sight and that penalty decision is shocking!
James. Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Decisions like that and diving are the 2 single mot annoying things about football.
Simi Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Decisions like that and diving are the 2 single mot annoying things about football. Well that was a combination of both. Malouda seemed to jump before he got touched. Nothing will change until bans are introduced.
