Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Four days to go! Oh, I'm all a-flutter! I'm actually not all that confident we're really going to improve on the last one, to be honest. We've done a NZ and peaked between tournaments and between back-room squabbles and injuries we don't look any more likely to storm to the final than last time - just with more expectation. Still, can't be in any worse a position than the English. It's gotta be really hard getting hyped for this, eh? So, anyone else excited?
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Have India got a team??? If not i'm supporting England!!! Does Johnny Wilkinson still play?? I dont really know anything about rugby!
Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 Wilkinson's like the Michael Owen of rugby. Had endless potential four or so years ago, is now broken. India probably have a team, but not in the competition. Edit: ahahahahahaha! Oh dear, Raj. I'm sorry, but that's BAD.
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Howzer! Captain is Nasser Hussain...he played cricket!!! Oh well atleats they are 88th and not 89th
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Looking at the groups, the quarter-finals will most likely be: Australia V England South Africa V Wales New Zealand V Ireland/Argentina France V Scotland/Italy From that you'd expect South Africa to brush past Wales. New Zealand will breeze through to the semi. France will have no trouble. Australia V England will be tight, both sides are a shaddow of their former selves. Could go either way. The semi finals will be: New Zealand V Australia/England South Africa V France NZ will win that, the other semi could go either way. So the Final will be: New Zealand V South Africa/France. It's pretty straight forward really.
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 And the winner will be.....................? New Zealand are huge favourites.
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 New Zealand are huge favourites. http://www.willhill.com/iibs/EN/buildcoupo...hoice=RW1801306 anything worth a punt???
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 http://www.willhill.com/iibs/EN/buildcoupo...hoice=RW1801306anything worth a punt??? Not really. You don't get huge upsets in rugby, the best team pretty much wins. If not the best team, certainly the next best. I can't see past NZ, but South Africa could possibly beat them, and just maybe France.
Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 http://www.willhill.com/iibs/EN/buildcoupo...hoice=RW1801306anything worth a punt??? You'd have to be stupid to write off any of the top four, really. Unless Ireland, Wales or maybe England have some sort of inspirational, fairytale-story tournament of dreams then it's likely going to be contested by the Tri-Nations (NZ, Oz and SA) and France. I'd fancy SA or France if you want to make a bit of money. NZ will bulldoze their way to the Semis, but I'd very surprised if they find Australia easy once they get there. Oh, and, @ "New Zealand V Australia/England South Africa V France" As if.
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I'll keep my money in my long pockets! (p.S !!!) Actually, having thought about it a bit more, Portugal could win it, put your money on them! I Guarantee they'll win!
Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 Probably got more chance than England. lol lol
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Actually, having thought about it a bit more, Portugal could win it, put your money on them! I Guarantee they'll win! Portugal it is then.....WAIT A MINUTE....do you think im THAT stupid??? "Tenner on Portugal to win Mr William Hill, cos Milky Joe said they would"
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Oh, and, @ "New Zealand V Australia/England South Africa V France" As if. Can a man not dream? England do have some chance of beating Australia you must admit.
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Probably got more chance than England. lol lol Look who's laughing, Mr Shitty Wales McGhee.
The People's Hero Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Fancy South Africa. Although obviously New Zealand are well fancied and very strong too.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Rugby, I don't see how any one can follow it and football at the same time. As a sport I have to say I don't find it very entertaining but I'll probabley watch some of this. EDIT: Oh and New Zealand are going to absloutley piss it this year, about time as well.

Is it not possibly to just be a big Sports fan? I follow pretty much every sport.
Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 Can a man not dream? England do have some chance of beating Australia you must admit. You've no more chance of beating Australia than we have SA. You're delluding yourself if you think the England / Wales game at Twickenham was anything like an accurate representation of our two sides. We looked far more lively against the French than your lot. I can't see us gracing the semis without serious, serious improvement in our concentration and forward-play, but I'm certainly happier to be a Wales fan at the moment.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Is it not possibly to just be a big Sports fan?I follow pretty much every sport. yeah but I have enough problems following all the football at the weekend. Club rugby would cause a mental melt down.

I'm not retarded thankyou.
