Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 Sod club rugby. Not bothered much about that, just check now and again to see where the Tigers are. World cup rent-a-fans.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 World cup rent-a-fans. This is what I mean, you can't follow both seriously.
lildave3 Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Knowing virtually nothing about rugby i'll tip France.
isaidno Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 How come the host nation is France but there's matches at the Millenium stadium (Wales) and Murrayfield (Scotland)
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 World cup rent-a-fans. I watched every single match of the Six nations, not just England, all the games! I've watched every England international for years aswell. Suck on that!
Alexikokopops Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Knowing virtually nothing about rugby i'll tip France. I'm going for Argentina. They're good at football you see. You can pick the ball up in Rugby, it'll be even easier for them.
James. Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I'm no expert but aren't New Zealand prone to bottling it in the World Cup? I fancy the French.
Joe. Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Hmmm I'm still tipping New Zealand to pull it off.
Sparky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 all black to destroy everything in there way , england maybe quarters fancy ireland to go furthest from home nations although the cardiff factor may get welsh a group win over the aussies
Finnegan Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 I watched every single match of the Six nations, not just England, all the games! I've watched every England international for years aswell. Suck on that! Ditto. Whilst following club rugby as well as club and international football. How do you know anything about the players in the England squad if you don't know ought about their clubs?
Geo V Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 If it was Football I`ll make sure I watch the games whether we are good or shite but in Rugby, I must admit that I wont make an effort to watch England get hammered. Far too many of our better players have retired, got injured or got old and I cant see us do anything but get a thumping in the quarters. The Southern Hemisphere will dominate again after a minor blip last time
Milky Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Ditto. Whilst following club rugby as well as club and international football. How do you know anything about the players in the England squad if you don't know ought about their clubs? I do know a bit about club rugby to be fair, i don't just dismiss it completely. I watch every England game, so i learn about the players from those games really. I'll admit that sometimes the first time i've seen a player in action is with England.
Finnegan Posted 4 September 2007 Author Posted 4 September 2007 Ahahah. I really don't want to come across as the petty, chip-on-the-shoulder, provinces arsehole. But that IS funny. Jesus Christ, why not just admit his career's over, his body's ruined and just let him go? The longer you waste trying to revive Wilko's career, the longer you leave a young'un with potential rotting in the wings.
lildave3 Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 How come the host nation is France but there's matches at the Millenium stadium (Wales) and Murrayfield (Scotland) I want to know this now too.

You wouldn't be telling him to retire if he was Welsh!
lildave3 Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 You're just coming across as sad and jealous. You wouldn't be telling him to retire if he was Welsh! Tbh, it is getting beyond a joke and a big part of me agrees with Finners.
Milky Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Tbh, it is getting beyond a joke and a big part of me agrees with Finners. Anyone can get a twisted ankle. He's still a top player, and to retire now would be a foolish waste of talent.
Geo V Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Bring on the Americans. I wonder if one forgets what game they are playing and once they get into the "End Zone" forget to down the ball and instead sling it to the flow like they do in Gridiron?!! Touch Downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!
Finnegan Posted 5 September 2007 Author Posted 5 September 2007 You're just coming across as sad and jealous. You wouldn't be telling him to retire if he was Welsh! And you just come across as a retard that doesn't know his twenty-two from his tight five. Johnny Wilkinson is, in his current state, half the player Stephen Jones and probably even James Hook are/is and no leading rugby nation (and by that I mean the top 8) have anything to envy of anything he has to offer. Even at his best he was incredibly overrated as a result of his kicking accuracy and one fated drop-goal. Most Tigers fans will agree that it was a travesty he sapped the attention, post World Cup, from Johnno and Backy and that the likes of Jaco van der Westhuyzen made him look decidedly average in his short stay in the English game. Wilkinson's presence in the England line-up, and their determination to continuously rush him back from injury after injury (a la Michael Owen) hinders the breakthrough of other young English talent (a la Michael Owen) and will over all have a detrimental effect on your national game (a la Michael Owen.) Jealousy isn't the word, I'd describe it more as pity.
James. Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 I just got offered a ticket to Wales vs Australia on the 15th. It really annoys me when World Cup rent-a-fans get offered a ticket to one of the biggest group ties in the World Cup that would have the Welsh (and Aussies) chopping off their own limbs to go and see.

A little, but I couldn't afford the travel to Cardiff anyway, tbh, or the day off work. Enjoy yourself mate, it'll be an amazing atmosphere.

That's the thing. I've already planned a weekend with the lady. Classic dilemna. I guess she'll only be angry with me for about a month. Small price, I say.
