Nod.E Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Am i the only one that likes the odd bit of the lighthouse family? Personally i love them. And i don't know whether to be ashamed or not you and me lifted ocean drive quality songs. Love the blokes voice.
Tommy G Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm I hate to admit it, but I was a bit partail to it when I was about 10 and my mum had it on in the car. Might have to whip it out again....the CD that is

Love the blokes voice. oddly enough, this is the very element that put me right off them - it is a very disctinct vocal styling he has - sadly, not to my taste...

It's only uncool because everyones aunty and uncle owns the greatest hits album
James. Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I'm with you son, I'm not ashamed to admit it. It's only uncool because everyones aunty and uncle owns the greatest hits album Are you sure about that? Not even a little bit? It's hard to hate them because they're so devastatingly inoffensive. However the long term partner of Mr Inoffensive is Mrs Bland. And when it comes to bland The Lighthouse Family do rather a good job. If I never heard another song of theirs ever again I don't think I'd notice.
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Inoffensive, middle of the road and bland. But sure - pleasant enough. All the songs sound the same though. *filed with The Corrs, Sterophonics and the Dum Dums*
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Aaaah, seminal blandsters The Lighthouse Family They make Dido's music sound exhilerating! Right at the top of my list of "bands to see when flamethrowers are allowed into gigs"
The People's Hero Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 We joke about their blandness but if they were about now, they'd be the drunk one at the party, trying to snort Daz Ultra, wearing a bra over their 'distressed' band t-shirt, with ripped jeans, juggling with your mum's best chinaware and refusing to stop cracking on to the blonde twins in the corner. The Feeling would be there, handing out canapes, which Newton Faulkener would refuse as there is a clause preventing the ingestion of canapes in his recording contract. Or some other such bul lshit. And that just when you think it can't get worse, some nobsac puts the Zephyr Song on the stereo. Fu ck you Chilli Peppers. How could you? Why did you record that? That whole album was complete gash.
