What the video doesn't show is that he barged his way past others to the microphone to try and ask his questions. It was a long rant about Skull and Bones. Kerry was willing to answer the question but the workshy fop didn't wait for an answer

He was asked to leave, didn't and could be perceived to be acting in a way that could be seen as threatening to a US senator. The guy was resisting arrest at that point,- he was pretty dumb to do that.

There was a film on last week which was showing certain aspects about George W Bush including his involvement with the Bin Laden family who were contributing cash to one of his companies. Off the point here.

Anyway one part showed a group a book club or something and one of the members made a comment about Bush, something along the lines of him being an idiot. The next thing her home is raided by the FBI. It turns out that there was a undercover cop at the meeting and report the person for being anti-American.

Slight mixing of stories there. The guy who was "raided" by the FBI made the comment at the gym and a fellow member reported him. Crazy. The undercover cop at the group in California was uncovered when he was killed in an accident and named in the paper as a Sherrifs' deupty who had been on the anti-terrorist squad.

The film was Farenhiet 911 by Michael Moore. Interesting but a rather inflamatory in it's style.

"The most excited anyone has been during a John Kerry speech..."

As an aside, campus cops aren't the same as the usual cops are they? I thought they had restricted powers.

Campus cops are regular cops. They have all the powers of any normal cop. They can even leave campus and give you a speeding ticket on a city road...trust me!!

That will happen in this country when the police get Tasers.

Hopefully.

As they say - if you don't want to be tasered you shouldn't be an uppity student gobshite!

This student is a known prankster who frequently posts videos online of himself doing silly things in public. This episode may have been another attempt to gain attention.

His actions weren't criminal, but they were disruptive (he barged past other people asking questions and he was ranting at the mic) and the authorities running the event had the right to ask him to leave. He refused and his behavior with the police officers was plain stupid. When approached by several police officers, it's not a smart thing to start screaming and then fight back when they approach, but he just had to make a spectacle of himself. Sure, four or five cops were going to be able to subdue him eventually, but the kid wouldn't stop screaming and resisting. The whole thing is ridiculous and a non-criminal act should never provoke such a confrontation, but still, the kid was being a dick.

That'll teach everyone to get right to the point and ask concise questions in a public forum :D
