eaststandtom Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Given City's outstanding act of sporting behaviour could this put us in contention for a UEFA cup place for fair play for next season???
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Given City's outstanding act of sporting behaviour could this put us in contention for a UEFA cup place for fair play for next season??? No, don't be silly
Geo V Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Given City's outstanding act of sporting behaviour could this put us in contention for a UEFA cup place for fair play for next season??? They don't award the places like that though do they? Isnt it all about the best behaved sides during the domestic season (least bookings and sending offs) and then you have to be lucky in being drawn out of a pot? Something like this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97hz5Sv-Qlg
eaststandtom Posted 20 September 2007 Author Posted 20 September 2007 No, don't be silly as unlikely as it sounds, why not? it would surely be a possibility if city were a premiership club silly? a question worth posing
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 as unlikely as it sounds, why not?it would surely be a possibility if city were a premiership club silly? a question worth posing We aren't Premier league for one. For two they have rules for entry to fair play leagues and based on cards throughout the season. It's a bit like suggesting we should be in Europe beacuse we got a one off result over Spurs, never going to happen.
Daggers Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 If we don't get a bye to the Champions League final then they can stick it up their arse.
Zingari Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 a nobel prize at least i would have thought
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Given City's outstanding act of sporting behaviour could this put us in contention for a UEFA cup place for fair play for next season??? Was thinking this too, you go into a draw along with other teams. We were in it once but lost out to a team from Estonia....
Master Fox Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 a nobel prize at least i would have thought
eaststandtom Posted 20 September 2007 Author Posted 20 September 2007 a nobel prize at least i would have thought absolutely!!! an oscar even? in fact, fook it, lets make a blockbuster film about the humanist spirit of leicester city!!! our own 'field of dreams'
Staf Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 I'm sure we have to be in the prem... Ye i think you do
Pete_foxes Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 A question worth posing. But I think its for when teams have minimal amounts of Yellow & red cards. Millwall got in Uefa cup once.. not for fair play though Hey anyway, lets not think about getting in with fair play, we're going to win Carling cup lads!
filbertway Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I think you have to be in the prem.

Bareknucklefoxer. Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 I heard on Radio5live yesterday that Liverpool were awarded by FIFA for 'Good Sportmanship' when Fowler looked as if he was bought down in the area by David Seaman, the ref awarded a penalty, however Fowler said that he wasn't touched and got the ref to reverse the decision ! (Can't remember the year though !?!) We'll more than likely get something along those lines. Anyone else remember that incident or any others like our 'Generosity' against Forest ? Sorry if someone else has already asked this !

Vacamion Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 A dead argument, I know, but I wouldn't hold out much hope for our team against any sides qualifying for UEFA. From the looks of last night, unless you draw the Cypriot cup winners, you are in for a hard fought struggle against some team from a former Communist hellhole...
