Phlashman Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I didn't go but I think this sort of thing is good for the club, good for the fans and good for Milan. At many other clubs something like this would never happen. Full credit to Milan for seeing and dealing with what he thought was a problem.

Yep and im now well and truely over Martin Allen and the saga. Milan is the man to take us forwards.
WetFlannel Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 we havent really learned anything new from it but i suppose it shows milan has a slight regard for the fans by organizing it
ASH17LCFC Posted 27 September 2007 Author Posted 27 September 2007 we havent really learned anything new from it but i suppose it shows milan has a slight regard for the fans by organizing it Yea we have, we learnt that Allen knew before the watford game his number was up.
WetFlannel Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Yea we have, we learnt that Allen knew before the watford game his number was up. although i didnt go, was that really worth it?
l444ry Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Yea we have, we learnt that Allen knew before the watford game his number was up. But wasn't that fact being reported in every newspaper for a fortnight before the Watford match?
ASH17LCFC Posted 27 September 2007 Author Posted 27 September 2007 It was worth going if you had nothing else to do. Was intresting and Milan was pretty much trying to say the right things.
ASH17LCFC Posted 27 September 2007 Author Posted 27 September 2007 But wasn't that fact being reported in every newspaper for a fortnight before the Watford match? Yep true, and you could kinda tell because allen came on the pitch at the start and the end and people where like .. Is he going or something ? Still most posters on here said what aload of rubbish and was papertalk.
Isopen Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I know the guy in the cap and he is actually alright, and knows his stuff! He explained that Milan did not have to be accountable to the bloke who kept interrupting him which was actually a fair comment.4 players were brought to the club by Allen or his agent. Nielsen, Kishishev, Sappleton (and Best guess would be Campbell) The bloke in the cap should have kept quiet, Milan was working through all the signings explaining how they came about, the information gained was interesting & would have liked Milan to continue through the full list. Was waiting to hear if Don Mackay had played a role in any of the players coming who have never set foot in the first team Can't say MA brought 4 players in, Milan just got interuppted. Cap guy said it was disrepectful asking Milan, personally don't think it was

Untill CAPMAN wrecked by saying how the bloke who asked was being disrepectful to Milan. Wish he would have shut up and waited till after the meeting to ask if he could go home with Milan and kiss his arse.
Ultra Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I know the guy in the cap and he is actually alright, and knows his stuff! He explained that Milan did not have to be accountable to the bloke who kept interrupting him which was actually a fair comment. But there were also other times where the chav himself was aggressive, especially when describing Allen as "arrogant". I wasn't impressed. Was a productive meeting. Milan explained many things and everyone left with a positive feeling. Are you a mindreader? If so, you're wasted on here. Many of those who attended the meeting were passive throughout and it would be impossible to gauge their true thoughts. There were also many things which the chairman did NOT explain, such as exactly when he felt relations with Allen had become irretrievable. Matty Fryatt was told he was not good enough by Allen and was made to train with the youth team. A statement which was made in the full knowledge Allen wouldn't be around to explain the context. There may have been valid reasons why he treated Fryatt the way he did (fitness/attitude issues?). When rumours of this act were aired at the time the reactions towards Allen weren't entirely unfavourable. 4 players were brought to the club by Allen or his agent. Nielsen, Kishishev, Sappleton (and Best guess would be Campbell) A very illuminating point, one of the few we had tonight. After what has happened in the past both here and at Portsmouth I'd have thought the chairman would have been a little more circumspect in his dealings with agents. Allen knew he would be gone before the Watford match ..And therefore before the Forest match too. when was this information conveyed to the players? Milan complained about the football and performances at Accrington, Forest (1st game), Crystal Palace. Easy to say in hindsight now. The first game was won, the second was far from irretrievable and the third was generally considered to be a decent result and certainly better than performances under Levein and Kelly at Selhurst Park. Milan said IF he thought any new manager was not for the good of the club (I.E inc Megson) he would get rid. That goes without saying, given the chairman's previous track record. Milan signed N'Gotty as he thought we needed strengthening at centre-back. That observation wasn't rocket science. Easy to see why Mandaric should claim credit. No mention of Ferreira or Djeziri though, or indeed of the entire Don Mackay episode. Glenn from RL phone ins stood and made some very good points about how Us fans don't hate Milan and are glad he is here, also that the club would be nowhere if MM had not rescued us last year. Was he the one who said MM was "the best chairman in the club's history"? If so it was brown-nosing of the worst order, especially as it's unsupported by fact. Since the takeover in March we've won just THREE league games out of eighteen. Some of those who hogged the mike made Bernie look like Brain of Britain! Just seen the report of the meeting on Sky Sports News. They seem to be even more in Mandaric's pocket than the Mercury is!

Thracian Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Uuuugh. I don't think I could have stomached that lot. But out of interest: Were all the relevent questions asked relating to City at the moment and were they answered fully and frankly? Was any indication given that we will, in future, scout and study players properly before they are signed. Did MM give any indication that he intends to have us playing proper football any time soon?
Raj Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 AAAhhhh how sweet!!! Does that mean we are now one big happy family???? Unless we lose to Stoke of course!!!???
Daggers Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 <idiot> Last night was your opportunity to confront him with your daft collection of nonsense and you bottled it - it's time for you to shut the **** up, Ultra. Either that or go post your paranoid guff on the EMC where no one will ever read it.
Guest Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Yeh them two blokes on the front row asked milan them questions. Was like jesus F in christ One of them came to the back afterwards and was bragging to another couple of blokes about how he'd got his question in. What the hell it had to do with people chanting Martin Allens name, I don't know. There were also many things which the chairman did NOT explain, such as exactly when he felt relations with Allen had become irretrievable. Did you honestly expect that to be answered?

Guest Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Did anyone ask him why my gas boiler isn't working properly??? No, no they didn't. Nobody asked him what the winning lotto numbers for Saturday will be either. I'm frankly disappointed.
Raj Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 No, no they didn't. Nobody asked him what the winning lotto numbers for Saturday will be either. I'm frankly disappointed. Pppffftttt...Bloody Leicester fans....should ask him really important questions...about my boiler, and the lotto numbers, and whats happening in Burma.
Master Fox Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 luv is in the airAll you need is love. I didn't know Milan drove a Ford Escort ...?
Tabou Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Fair play to MM, he doesnt have to answer to anyone, but he has put himself in the firing line and been (relatively) open and honest. My main concerns are.... 1) The integrity of our fans. Hate him one moonth, love him the next... 2)Why everyone is desperate to know about the MM & MA affair. Its done. Drop it. Third and final point.... as previously stated, by the sounds of the questions asked last night, MM must think that the population of our fans are as thick as foook! I'm quite glad I wasn't there. I don't think I cope with some phone-in-jeremy-kyle-watching-richmond-smoking idiot! (No offence intended to any phone in users, Jeremy Kyle fans, or Richmond cigarette smokers. These are meerly being used as stereotypes )
eaststandtom Posted 28 September 2007 Posted 28 September 2007 Said Martin Allen was sacked for Non footballing reasonsSaid he only signed 1 player (but some nob in a cap stood up and started kissing milan arse .. so he couldn't finish) Said allen didn't get the players fit probally Was Allen agent who got most of the players not milan 2 Divs at the front where going on about crap like ... why aren't we playing matty fryatt and Something about megson not being good enough for the premiership. i for one am glad that this has happened and i hope it can help clear the air between milan and those disgruntled by allens sacking. as i have said before, i was dubious about allens appointment and thoroughly unconvinced by the time the season came around. while in an ideal world he would have been given longer from a footballing point of view if he had to go for 'non footballing reasons' then fair enough. i cant understand the furor about his departure and the 'martyr' like image this guy now has. someone even compared him to o'neill in the mercury the other day. now is the time to move on. gary megsons blue and white army

Either that or go post your paranoid guff on the EMC where no one will ever read it. to be fair to him he has a point about the Palace game, and Glenn who while agree with some of the things he says, does have a tendancy to go well OTT. Still though, plenty of guff in there as usual.
