Kisnorbo- 7 Didn't really do anything wrong had a tendancy to wonder up the right flank but I think that is due to Megsons bodged first half tactics.

McAuley- 7 Usual performance

Mattock- 8 starting to like this guy, was a doubter but showing a touch of class at such a young age, with experince could be real quality

Clemence- 6.5 under par performance compared to villa, did get in a few good shooting positions and had a much improved second half

Chambers- 5 Not the guys fault, he was not in the game and totaly out of position

De Vries- 6 I hate the guy but credit where it is due. He held the ball up quite well and would of took cort off at half time not De vries

DJ-6 Never really in the game, a few quality touches but its still not enough.

Hume- 7 Usual energetic self linked up well with Hume

Fryatt- 8 45 minutes off class, superb vision, why cant we see that this guy is a true gem and with games will come goals lots of them.

Thats whats confusing me. So Mattock and stearman are fine after playing wing backs in both games? Now I've played wing back many times (obviously not at this level!) and its such a tiring and phuysically demanding place to play all game running up and down the line, if anyone would be left out it would be those 2.

Personally I think Megson wanted the height up front to go route 1 and to try and play stoke at their own physical game and needless to say that 1st half it didn't work. Also noticed both MDV and cort went back to defend corners against stokes height another possible reason for their inclosure in the team.

An awful game played by two awfull teams.

Here goes

Fulop 6 didn't have a lot to do. 1 or 2 good catches and kicks but 1 or 2 dodgy kicks as well.

Mccauley 5 looked off the pace today. Poor distribution and beaten in the air a lot as well.

N'Gotty 5.5 Tidy at times but awful at times as well. Gives the ball away far too often.

Kisnorbo 6 Marginally the best defender but again distribution not all that good.

Mattock 6 ok but no more than that. Not sure whether he is a better defender or attacker.

Clemence 4.5 His worst game for us? very poor distribution on the whole though he did play some good passes in the 2nd half. Lots of missed tackles.

Chambers 2 Lucky to get that many. 3 passes that just went into touch. Strikes me as a player of very limited ability. His distribution was woeful with most passes going to a Stoke player. He is an average right back and should play there unless we have an injury crisis.

Stearman 6 one of our better players but he is clearly not a right sided midfield player. Got in some good positions but his inabilty to go round a defender hampered the team. Throw ins need an extra yard to be effective.

Devries 5 The best of the front 3 in the first half and hard to see why he should have given way and not Cort.

Cort 3.5 Basically hopeless but did at least win the occassional header. Looked terrible with the ball at his feet.

DJ 1 A point for pulling on his shirt. An utter waste of time. our worst buy since Akinbiyi. He just offers nothing and frankly doesn't look interested. he never anticipates play or moves for the ball but waits for it to get to him. Sell him as soon as possible.

Fryatt 8 great finish and worked hard.

Hume 7 usual stuff.

Kishishev 6 looked ok and won a few good 50/50 tackles.

Admire his post match honesty but 1st half was a shambles. 4-3-3 playing a total of 6 fulbacks/centre halves is asking for trouble and that is exactly what we got. He obviously needs tie to get to know if the squad have any strengths but time is going quickly and we need a massive improvement in the next 5 game or we will be badly out of touch with the leading clubs.

Very harsh and suggests your lack of football knowledge. I would conceed that he is no midfileder, but played in his proper poistion(Right back or right wing-back) is as good as anyone in the division. Fans at Watford and WBA wish he was still with them, he got promoted three times playing at right back and that record is good enough for me.

You know nothing about my "lack of football knowledge". I can only comment on what I have seen this season as far as he is concerned and as far as his past is concerned that is of no relevance to his current performers. Schevchenko was one of the best strikers I have seen play live and now he is not. Players lose form and sometimes recover it some do not. Today Chambers was very very poor. I would not doubt his effort but for a professional player to pass the ball directly out of play on three occassions and under no pressure is not acceptable. According to my match stats only 34% of his passes went to a Leicester player> That is not good enough.

As for getting off his back well unless he reads this forum I doubt he cares very much about my opinion and if I feel any player has a bad game for us then I shall not cease from saying so.

Kisnorbo 6 Played okay I suppose but got done for pace on a couple of occasions

Mattock 7 Defended soundly and was pleasing to see him try and beat his full back

Chambers 4 Ran about a lot but doesn't have the feet or the passing range to play in central midfield.

Clemecne 5 The worst I have seen him play for Leciester, but then again he was pretty much our only midfield player at many points

De Vries N/A I refuse to rate his performance as a right winger, it would be like criticising him if he were asked to play in goal and let a couple in that he should have saved. Completely and utterly lost.

Campbell 5 Recieved the ball back to goal most of the time which is obviously not his strength but still could have offered more.

Cort 4 Would say the same as De Vries but switch left for right, however he was no better in his stint through the middle either.

Fryatt 8 A striker with good movement, a bit of skill and can finish. He is at the club yet we play De Vries.

Hume 7 Why we wouldn't start with our most talented player I don't know. Enjoyed seiing him in attacking midfield.

Kishichev 6 Did okay in the little time he was on.

Megson 0 Anyone who saw that line up new what to expect. Disgraceful.

Fulop - 6 - Nothing to do - couldn't see the goal but thought he may have got something on it - it didn't appear to be right in the corner. May have been the angle I was sitting at, and he may have seen it late however.

Stearman - 6- Plenty of application, but not really noticeable.

N'Gotty - 6 - Unspectacular

McAuley - 6 - OK

Kisnorbo - 6.5 - Did alright

Mattock - 7- Looked willing to get forward and made up ground several times, was sound defensively aparent from letting their winger get a cross in a bit easily once.

Clemence - 4 - Dwelled on the ball and often ignored the simple ball to attempt (and fail) something else. Didn't really drive the team forward and seemed to be playing too deep.

Chambers - 6- Good pass for Fryatt's goal (which their defence should prob have cut out), but looked lost for a lot of the game though did do plenty of running.

MDV - 5.5- Can't really remember much of first half - think he held it up well at points, but asking him to play as a wide forward is like asking Gary Neville to play in the hole.

Cort - 5- Fairly anonymous, glimpses of a decent touch but if he should be playing it should be through the middle.

Campbell - 4- If I were to make a snap judgement after seeing two appearances it would be that we have paid well over the odds. Didn't threaten at all, no sign of the pace we hear so much about and doesn't appear to offer anything that Hume doesn't.

Hume - 6 - Did OK but the stupid formation and general lethargy didn't really give him the option to stamp himself on the game

Fryatt - 7- Scored with pretty much his first touch of the ball and took it well. This is why he is a better player than Elvis - he has that strikers head and just slotted it rather than blasting it at the keeper. Didn't really do much else - crossed when he really should have shot and caused the odd problem but one goal in 45 mins from two chances is fine with me.

Kish - 5 - Wrong person to bring on. Annoyed me a bit how several times Mattock had the opportunity to get forward but gave it to Kish who just played it sideways instead of encouraging Mattock to get forward for the return.

Megson - 5 - We wasted 45 mins, tnough fair play - he did admit on the radio that he got it wrong. He also explained the lack of Hume and Fryatt in the lineup and said what we want to hear - that those who put the work in will play and anyone who doesn't fancy it can piss off.

Fulop 7 Couldn't have done much for the goal (though I couldnt see it all that well) Was otherwise OK.

Stearman 7 Had a great second half, shame he got turned inside out for the stoke goal.

McAuley 5 Think the ref was pretty harsh against him but he made some pretty poor mistakes today. Not his best by a long shot.

N Gotty 7 Solid as usual, apart from when he went for a header into Paddy who already had it covered.

Kisnorbo 6 Yeah, ok ish never went forward though. obviously megs thought he had enough height.

Mattock 7.5 he lacks pace but made some great runs down the wing. Still far from the finished article but I'm starting to like him

Fryatt 8 AWhat a difference. As soon as he came on we all started to move off the ball. Some great positional play and he WANTED the ball which is more than you can say for the 3 strikers who started. Good to see him back, a very well taken goal. Unlucky not to score later on when he chose to cross instead of shoot

Megson 3 Kudos for the substitutions and the obvious bollocking at half time, but one look at that team selection made me groan. Really really desparately poor first half. But he is still settling in and he's obviously keen to give everyone a chance.

Utterly bemused by some of these ratings...

Fulop 7- Couldn't do much about the goal- it swerved a helluva lot. Otherwise, solid and dependable as usual

McAuley 6- Solid at the back and really useful in attacking set-pieces, but no good with the ball at his feet- his distribution was woeful, and hence why he has been marked down.

N'Gotty 7.5- Quality. Much better at centre back, and still has some pace for a 36 year old!

Kisnorbo 6.5- Looked uncomfortable first half, but much better second half.

Stearman 6.5- I really can't make my mind up about him. Lost Fuller for the goal, and was a little edgy during the first half, but much better defensively in the second and a really useful outlet going forward.

Clemence 7- Really didn't seem to know how to play it first half, but more than made up for it second half when playing it along the deck- more halves like that please!

Chambers 5- MEGSON GET THIS INTO YOUR HEAD- HE IS NOT A CENTRAL MIDFIELDER!!!! Utterly wasted, felt really sorry for the bloke, although he did give his all.

Mattock 8- Best I've seen the lad play this season, awesome running at players and the crosses into the box that we've all been wanting. Not bad defending either. Definitely a better bet than Sheehan if he continues in this vein.

De Vries 6- I thought he did alright first half; arguably our best player up to the break. He held the ball up okay, and got involved. Definitely better than Cort. Didn't think he'd played as poorly as Megson seemed to make out in the post-match interview.

Campbell 3.5- The way we were playing didn't really suit him, but he was brushed off the ball far too easily for me. Never once looked like getting in a goal scoring situation.

Cort 3- Why on earth he was left on whilst De Vries was unceremoniously benched bemuses me. First touch was awful and he seems to have lost a yard of pace. Got a bit annoyed with the Kop's treatment of him though; it wasn't necessary.

Subs:

Fryatt 7.5- The change in movement up front was frightening. Excellent interplay with Hume and a great finish for the goal. Should have had a second when Kishishev delayed the ball and Fryatt would have been through on goal.

Hume 7.5- Utterly changed the way we played the game. Linked up the play between midfield and attack really well, and again understands how Fryatt plays. These two must have a prolonged run together.

Kishishev 6.5- Best I've seen of him. Really wanted it today. Was aggressive and did the simple things well... except for when he should have played Fryatt in.

Megson 5- Never should have started with that attack, and I think he knows it, but well done to him for changing it BUT Cort should never have remained on the pitch and for God's sake CHAMBERS IS NOT A MIDFIELDER!

Kop 0- Disgraceful section of the Kop booing the lads off at half time and barracking Cort at every ball- even when he got in the way of a Fryatt shot he could never have hoped to avoid.

Ref 2- Played into Stoke's gamesmanship all the time, waay to finicky whilst at the same time missing some obvious decisions.

McAuley - 6.5 - Sound game didnt make any mistakes

Stearman - 6.5 - Looked alright

Chambers - 6 - Looked solid when challenging for ball not creative enough to be a midfielder

Mattock - 7 - Looked alot more confident, got forward well but no one was on the left hand side with him so sometimes outnumbered at the back also lucky not to concede penalty at the end

Campell - 5.5 - Looked lively at points but men up front with him cant have helped much

Cort - 2 - SHIT. thats just for winning a few headers and touching the ball abot 10 times in his 70 mins on the pitch

Hume - 6.5 - Livened us up but never looked a threat like he has in other games

Fryatt - 7 - Got the goal had a couple of other half chances

Kishishev - 6 - Wasnt on long enough but looked decent

Megson - 2 - Line up was rediculous Hume and Fryatt on the bench? Was Sheehan injured? Still no show for Kaebi and Ferreira. Players were all over the shop first half looked like they didnt know where they were playing. the 2 is for making a drastic change.

Ref - 0 - To many stoppages Someone falls over = freekick, well thats what it was like in second half

Match overall - First half terrible deservedly booed off .better second half could've gone on to win. Stoke played dirty every time one of their lads went down it seemed to take an age for them to get up and for the free kick to be taken some nasty tackles aswell.

We were distinctly average.
