Even in the short time he's been here it must have been apparent to him that: a) Chambers is a good right back not a midfielder. b) Fryatt is our striker in form. c) King is our most creative and versatile midfielder. He should also know you cannot play an effective 3-4-3 or even 3-5-2 at home without sufficient creativity or goalscoring potential and he never had that today.

He's looking in good shape for the reserves and i know Thrac bangs on about him quite abit but i feel its a hell of alot more justified than Sheehan or Porters over elaborated praise. I think he deserves a shot, doubt Megson will though because he's another experience lover.

Implied, threatening criticism of the forward players who started the game is a ridiculous excuse for a performance that everyone ("Booooo. What a load of rubbish") could see from the minute that the team was annouced was going to be terrible. I for one thought that the ineffectiveness of DJ and De Vries was absolutely nothing to do with their character or commitment. The end result is he's going to lose players that he needs on his side to be successful. You can't consistently win football matches without a midfield. Even more certainly, you can't play a style of football that anyone wants to watch.

To call him "appalling" does a disservice to his attitude and work-rate which are both good. Not his fault he's being put there. Newton, now he WAS appalling.

Amazingly static, no-one moving. I am actually beginning to believe that Megson will if given chance be a decent manager for us. Ok. We all agree that the starting team line up especially upfront was "What, no way, we'll struggle to score". As he stated in his interview, he gave the players a chance to show what they could do and were found to be sadly disappointing. He's only been here a short time and still getting to know the players. It's one thing for persons who have been around for a little while to tell the manager that certain players are crap. But I think he did the right thing in giving them a chance. He now knows more about the squad, every little more knowledge helps. Hopefully some of the players will now either knuckle down and perform or be booted out in January. Incidentally, I think he should give Fryatt a regular run in the team to see if he is a half decent striker.

Hopefuly he HAS learned form his mistake. He is still finding his best players and formation so he deserves a chance to experiment surely? I doubt he will ever play mdv,cort and Dj again...if he does i'll kill him

That said I don't entirley blame them for the performance. MDV & Cort would not relish playing in a team with NO natural wingers. And DJ's first touch is that bad that it never stuck up front. If GM wants to play 5-2-3 or 5-3-2, then it needs to be with either better wingbacks, or better footballers on the ground/ie pass & move.
