Million miles away from the premiership.......

...............and a million light years away from staying there.

Guess we all know that but it was really rammed home to me last week when, for the first time in ages, I watched some Premiership football (MOTD)

The gap in class was massive. If Milan is wishing for a quick return on his investment well he's mistaken.

If and it's a big IF, we somehow get there within 3 years we'll be the whipping boys, big time.

Boy, am I depressed!

lol we could end up in a battle to stay up at this rate. We need better players if we're to have any chance to go up.

Why do we need better players?

Our squad is certainly capable of competing in this league we have the likes of:

Hume

Fryatt

DJ(on his day)

Clemence

Weso

Kisnorbo

McAuley

N'Gotty

Fulop

Who are all good enough players for this league and a few of our players have been linked to prem players!

if we are going to progress we need to get a starting 11 sorted, a formation sorted and start performing well!

Leicester fans just love to moan, is it in the water?? There's a lot of work to be done but lets take a glass half-full look at things for once!

Like someone said, we've got a 3 year plan so chill! this year 19th, next season 10th, next - 1st! easy :):S

omg, this is what football is, no need to complain... its what makes it special

I predicted this fom the start, that prat De Vries was never good enough and what the hell he was doing on the pitch this afternoon is beyond me,DJ is as bad..I wasn't a Megson fan until this afternoon but I sure am now, from his post match comments I can tell he knows who the tossers are and it will be different come Tuesday! :D

Megson is growing on me.

we're a settled championship team now.

We're a settled Bottom Half Championship Team. We need a midfielder who can rip a defence open.

You do know, we have only won once in the league ? League Tables don't lie.

You do know we are only two wins from the play-offs and league tables are meaningless at this stage in the season?

Thing is from bits Milan has said recently its nit a 3 year plan anymore he wants it this year now, so what has changed so dramatically to make Milan say this because its nothing apparent to the fans.

He's not growing on me, and not because he plays negatively, but because he clearly doesn't know the players, and rather than sticking to what position they've played for years he's tried to just shove them in anywhere.

I'm not against negative play though, especially for a team as poor as us. Because we are poor, we know we are. We've no divine right to be hitting the playoffs, we're a bottom half Championship side, behind the likes of West Brom, Wolves, even the Stokes and the Plymouths. Mourinho played negatively at Chelsea; as in, he set out to negate the opposition, which we seem to do quite well. Once Megson works out a way of scoring goals by exploiting weaknesses we'll grind a decent season out and go from there. The positive is he seems to be able to get the defence concentrated and committed which is half the fight. But his selections are still poor for my liking.

Agree with that completely. The excuses don't wash with me. He's got people who know where these players should play. If he knows James Chambers so bloody well then he should know that he is not a central midfielder. He's already playing players out of position to accommodate others - one of my pet hates in football at the moment.

Determined to be positive though.

One hopefully encouraging sign for me is that he got close to a decent team by the end of yesterday's game. Once Wesolowski is back then hopefully we won't have Chambers in midfield any more. And hopefully Megson will have noticed how good Hume was in the attacking midfield role yesterday.

As much as I don't like Fryatt generally, he looks back to his best at the moment. He needs to start on Tuesday night, preferably alongside De Vries with Hume in behind. Mattock is on form which is great to see.

Wouldn't bother with Cort at the moment, he's more of a hindrance than a help to the team and it's painful to watch.

Agreed. You'd hope that eventually he'll stop pissing into the wind and just work it out right.

Agreed, at least he gives it a go with the changing of tactics if we're struggling. However, I know the Villa result was to be another 'false dawn'

Yeah fair enough he realized his mistake and changed it at half time but why did he change it in the first place? Why change the winning team from Wednesday then if they played bad and lost yesterday they had no excuse, they played fairly well on Wednesday, they won, they would have had no excuse if they had lost yesterday but no he decided to change the winning team.

I agree Villa probably was another false dawn and again it just gives us more power to say they players need to look at themselves, they beleive there premiership players and when they play in the championship they have it in there heads there too good for this, obviously not.

Yes Megson realized his mistake and changed it but he still didn't have the balls to admit his mistake in his interview did he?!

Yes.

He reckoned Hume and Fryatt were knackered and that DJ and Cort could do the job but didn't. Personally I'd expect FAR more from DJ and Cort, two supposedly good players, and I won't slate him for doing the same.

at least campbell had a decent over head kick almost go in, and it must of been hard for him as we kept hoofing it up to de vries and cort all match...

True. I thought Campbell at least looked like he had a couple of ideas yesterday, which is better than he's managed so far this season. It just wasn't coming off for him.

Yeah Hume and Fryatt looked run of there legs  THAT is what I call and excuse. I know they only had 45 minutes but they didn't look that knacked to me. Yes they worked hard on Wednesday (Mind you Hume was subbed on Wednesday anyway) but thats no excuse, there professional footballers, professional athletes, I'm not saying they never get knacked because they have a high energy job but at the same time if there knacked this early in the season, I'm worried.

And another thing Megson said something about we have had 5 games in 15 days as if he didn't know games come round this quick in this league.

Don't get me wrong i'm trying to give Megson time, I want him to do well but if only he admitted mistakes and didn't make excuses I might be able to support him more and not slag him off for it.
