rustic Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 It seems Alan Sheehan is the only one that has taken the fall for the Charlton fiasco! Ok he was poor that day, but he was in good fooking company. He was'nt togged out against Stoke or Wolves since. He has scored 2 goals in 7 games from free kicks and was just starting to get a run in the team.

In a 5 man midfield he would give us many more attacking options i.e shooting, free kicks and set pieces. My midfield would be Mattock Sheehan Clemence Weso Stearman

ASH17LCFC Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Sheehan gonna be the new Jon Ashton i tellz ya.
Thracian Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 And Sheehan is a big headed twat. Can't imagine why City made him captain of the reserves then. Unless it is so difficult to find a professional footballer who isn't a bit of a bighead and who doesn't rate his own ability. The fact that some hide it more than others doesn't change the fact. Professional footballer is by its very nature all about proving yourself to be better than others. I've spoken to AS on several occasions. He seems a perfectly likeable and approachable guy.
BigGibbo Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 I rate Sheehan although i think Mattock is a bit better overall i still think Sheehan should get some more chances because we rarely look like scoring at present & when he's on his free kicks seem our most likely chance of a goal.

Meant to say ... Went round his house cooked him a meal, We played championship manager and then watched the sun rise.
Geo V Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Sheehan has shown talent and so has Mattock at times but neither is good enough to stay in the first team and I am hoping GM gets a replacement for Clarke and finds someone quality to play LM because we haven't got enough quality there going forward. Sheehan may come good but he isnt ready yet.
Thracian Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Meant to say ... Went round his house cooked him a meal, We played championship manager and then watched the sun rise. Not another one with a boy/boy obsession. It seems endemic on here.
Milky Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Whenever someone goes to ask for an autograph at the reserves, he really gives them the cold shoulder. They ask him questions and try to talk put he just acts above it all.

Ultra Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 In a 3-5-2 only 1 left sider is needed and Mattock is the better defender, end of Indeed. But Mattock's attacking credentials have been somewhat limited to date. I'd bring Sheehan back for the next home game, which we'll probably need to win to move out of the drop zone. Sooner or later, Megson will be forced to turn to the more creative elements in his squad.
Thracian Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Are you a homophobe thracian? I must say I cannot understand people's apparent fascination with the subject. However, to answer your question I don't fear or hate anyone. I take people as I find them. Until now it is not a question I have ever thought about in my life. Truth to tell I even checked the word in the dictionary because, even in years as a news and sports journo, it is not one I ever used. As far as I can tell from my limited experience it is something modern folk worry about rather than people of my generation. Maybe being a father-to-be at 17 meant I had a sheltered life. But four decades on I can assure you I'd rather have a Barbar's or a game of golf than concern myself with anything so trivial. While some of the players' girlfriends might make me smile inside and remind me of "happy days" I am, rather boringly, a guy who knows how lucky he is to be celebrating 40 years of marriage to a wife who still looks 20 years younger than her actual years and who I still love like the day I met her. Other people I leave to whatever turns them on. Whatever their sexuality I'd probably never notice much less care.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Some achivement 40 years of marriage well done thrac In the current formation 3/5/2 or 5/3/2 i would go with Mattock even if Sheehan was slightly ahead i would go Mattock becuse he seems more likely than Sheehan to sucseed beyond the Championship. Sheenan looks like he will just be cover for the first team but wouldn't mind seeing him occasionally off the bench.

No effort, no workrate, no defensive ability and not enough going forwards to warrant a place on the left attacking flank. Ship him off elsewhere, he's not good enough for us.

My congratulations to you and your wife. OK - back to Sheehan...

Concerning Mr Sheehan, don't really see him as left wing back, it's a lot of hard work and I'm not sure he'd be able to put in the full shift. Also the words "Sheehan" and "Back" don't go well together, Mattocks a better option for me. Obviously Sheehan has to be the back up by virtue of being the only other pro at the club he remotley suits the role.
