Melbourne foxes - think we start planning for sat 7 May vs Everton as a possible night / morning to catch up celebrate the season .

It's the late game so we may need to be at a venue in Melbourne to watch it live .

Any thoughts

I won't be around but in years gone by the Charles Dickens has normally been accomidating, if not try the Imperial on Spring Street. The Impy has a 24 hour liquar licence and normally show plenty of sport, done a few all nighters in there for World cups etc.

As a side note, not been in the Dickens for a while but if you ask nicely the guy that owned it used to have an old VHS he would put on of our play off win in 1996.

I've put this one together for a Leicester City Melbourne Supporters Facebook page if i can rally enough Melbourne supporters together.

The flag, which also features on the City of Melbourne's flag features the coat of arms, with the bull, whale, ship and the fleece hanging from a red ring as you see on the flag.

On the right of the flag it says "Vires acquirit eundo" which means "she gathers strength as she goes", much like the Club that is our Leicester City, which is the City of Melbourne's motto.

Here is the original Melbourne flag:

And here's the flag i've put together, obviously not the proper dimensions yet.

I would love to get a group of Melbourne Foxes together if we don't already have one. A bit hard to work that out at this stage.

If anyone knows any Melbourne Foxes, or if you are one that would like to establish a Melbourne Supporters Club, pm me please. I'm curious as to whether or not we do already have one.

im interested!

Any melboune based fans fancy European bier cafe tonight?    Usually head to the imperial but they're showing liverpool!

Anyone else disappointed in some of the Foxtel commentary slater , Bosnich & Kosi everything Leicester does is plucky , lucky & the usual one man team rubbish. The only one they seem to rate is ranieri because " he's Italian " .Then they rave and pour over Tottenham like they are Barcelona.

Right, it's my birthday next Sunday - 45 years young.

I will be out in Sydney.  I understand there are gatherings in Cheers bar, PBH and Star City casino.

Let's see if we can get all the City fans in the same spot shall we.  If you don't go out for this one then shame on you.

Please let me know!!!!!!

COME ON!!!!!!

To all Melbourne, Victorian, even, Foxes,

this coming Sunday night the Savoy Tavern on Bourke Street, Melbourne, will be screening our massive clash against Manchester United.

They are urging Leicester City Supporters across the City, and the state of Victoria, to make their way to the pub for this one.

There's an event on Facebook which the Savoy Tavern have made and is gradually growing momentum.

I know it's a Sunday night and it might be difficult for some people to make their way to the CBD for it given the next day is a working day. I'll be working the next day also, but given the situation I will not be missing this for anything.

This will be massive and i'll do what i can to make sure we get a News crew to cover the scenes for the night.

I'm sure the Foxes fans that are going would love to see a large turn out of Foxes there.

Let's take over, this will be our night. Come on down and make this a massive night to remember!

Up the Foxes!

Hi

Lesta fan since the early 80s living in Melbourne since 2001.

Yesterday I sent an email to lots of Leicester City fans I was in touch with years ago and was pointed to Foxes Talk (which  I posted on briefly way back... 2007?) which seems a better place to discuss.

I suggested the Charles Dickens for a meet up for the Everton game having been there before a few times including when I met  up with the Leicester City Supporters of Australia back in.... 2010(?)

But ultimately it doesn't matter where so long as I can celebrate appropriately.

I'm not inclinded to come into the Savoy this week as I can watch at home and crawl into bed. Even the possibility of a news crew is unlikely to to tempt me :-)

I was aiming for the game when we might be handed the trophy (do we know if we get it at Everton if we have won by then? - I understood we would). And Everton being a Saturday night means this poor old usually non-drinking bloke has some recovery time.... and 2 of my kids are away so I might get recovery time on the Sunday.

Having said that I might be tempted for the Chelsea game too and take the Monday off.

There was a Leicester City Supporters Club of Australia a few years ago run by Justin Cartwright and I met up with them/him twice at Charles Dickens (and once at a Victory game). It seeemed to stop once Justin went overseas. The Ausfox.net domain has also now expired as of last year.

I asked the old guy at the Dickens the other day and he was enthusiastic. Like just about everyone else was excited about the prospect of Lesta winning it.

Happy to join a revamped club, but as someone else said, the flag looks too much like Melbourne City and my allegiance is to Victory since the start.

Oh.... and a mate is sending me some clap banners, though they may have got lost in the post they've taken so long  :-(

I am aiming to be in the city (at whichever venue is most popular) on Sat 7th/Sun 8th to watch the Everton game and bring the Lesta fans I know, plus anyone else interested. I will probabaly look somethng like this....

<errr! I can't upload the photo!> ... oh never mind!

Up The City!

Gonna stay at home for this one or go to The Dickins on Collins Street, our spiritual home.

100% will be at The Dickens on Sunday night. Hopefully a similar atmosphere to the Burnley game the year we went up!

That's fine, like i said if those that are happy with the normal meet up pub, that being the Charles Dickens, then that's fine and i completely understand! But i thought i'd give the Savoy a crack

15 clap banners arrived in post from a mate

Come on feel the noize!

lol  That's brilliant

I've been stewing over the great Dickens vs Savoys debate for 2 days now! Although 54 people have said the are going to the savoy on their facebook event a quick "facebook stalk" reveals that a small percentage are actually die hard city fans.

So, im thinking the Dickens is actually the best option now as i feel it will have more people there that are like myself (wanting to watch the game with fellow fans) rather then a big crowd just there to have a good night out, see Leicester maybe win the league and it not really mean anything.

at the end of the day i just want to have the best experience possible this sunday night or the next if need be

discuss...........

As much as I love the Dickens, I'm going to head to the Savoy. Last time I went to the Dickens late on a Sunday night for a Leicester game I was watching on my own and was getting pushed out the door before the final whistle.

Look i know there will be a few hanger on and "new" city fans at the Savoy but it's a big enough Pub. That us long time fans can stand together and watch it. Keep an I out for me if you come to the Savoy i'll be in a Topps Tile city shirt or a shirt from 5 or 6 seasons ago with Waghorn on the back.

I'm aiming to get to the Savoy around 9, if there is only hangers on and flogs still around 10.30 ish it's not far to head to the Dickens.
