Asha Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Contracts were drawn up, awaiting solicitors approval prior to signing.Does seem strange though. A manager who has not had a job in 18 months, we give him a chance, then another club makes a move for him. Sounds as if it was certainly a stitch up. I'd have to agree tbh. Why the fook would Bolton want a manager who hadn't managed for 18 months, and was shit anyway.

ithuriel Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 You say "of course MM didn't know"----------------how come then(being a very successfull businessman)he did'nt get "THE GINGER MINGER" to sign a contract then--------That's the FIRST thing you do!!! because megson was most likely lying through his teeth , probably gave mandy a gentlemans agreement , shook hands and thanked him for returning him from the wilderness where nobody would touch him. has i've said though , good ridance to bad rubbish.
43 years a Forest Fan Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 This Megson think stinks to high heaven. WHO'S YOUR MANAGER THIS WEEK ?? TOLD YOU 6 WEEKS AGO HE WAS A TOTAL W----R !! NOW YOU KNOW WHAT WE WERE ALL TALKING ABOUT UP HERE IN TRICKY TREE LAND AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE TWAT AS LONG AS WE DID !!
wirralsimon Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE TWAT AS LONG AS WE DID !! It took a Forest fan to get right to the heart of the issue! It may stink to high heaven, but Megson gone and 350k in the bank isn't a bad peice of business IMHO. If he had been sacked we would have paid him to leave. Simon
Fat Ron Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 From BBC site... Megson, who will be officially in charge from Friday, may have been pleased at the team's spirited performance but would have been unhappy at their inability to hold on to a lead. He takes charge for the first time on Sunday when they face Aston Villa and his appointment after a six-week stint at Leicester is being questioned by some Bolton supporters. They are concerned about his track record and there were chants of 'Sack the board' and 'You don't know what you're doing' from a section of the fans. Not surprisingly the home side looked a bit nervous considering their recent poor form, which led to the departure of Sammy Lee. Seems like Megson is as popular up north as he is in the Midlands!!!
Thracian Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Megson didn't rate Elvis unfortunately, with any luck he'll wade in with £1million for James Chambers as his star central midfielder though.Shame, as I like him at right back. Ho-hum. Right - time for a teacake. MAVIS! On what evidence did Megson not rate Elvis?
Flynny Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 On what evidence did Megson not rate Elvis? Rumour abounds that he hated leaving the club All Shook Up. a-thankyou.
The other Ollie Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Rumour abounds that he hated leaving the club All Shook Up.a-thankyou. v good
Wycombe Fox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 When I read the thread title I thought that Megson had a cheesy willy! There's a Red Leicester joke in there somewhere...
Martin Hendo for god. Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Bang on ! They used us!Explains why he didn't sign a contract. Point is---------------------Did MM know???? Who cares. If anyone sees Gartside down the pub we owe him a pint .
Nath Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 WE got £300,000 off them, best deal since Mcarthy!
bluebatt Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Who bloody cares, the bloke that was taking us nowhere has gone, wether it was a conspiracy or whatever, thank the Lord that he's gone!simple as! just read what the ginger twat has written in the bolton web site usual shit great club, great stadium blah, blah blah .thanks bolton for taking the ginger twat , now lets get someone who wants the job .
Hullfox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Megson never had an air of permanence about him. I wouldn't be surprised if he and his agent had planned this scam from day one.But at least the club and fans can move on, and put this episode behind us. That comment would have been brilliant had you not posted it after he left.
WetFlannel Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 the fact we had to take him against our wishes and then he throws it back in our faces... i feel stupid for backing him now
Scow Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 On what evidence did Megson not rate Elvis? He wasn't anywhere near the first team? I thought that might have been quite obvious.
Thracian Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 He wasn't anywhere near the first team?I thought that might have been quite obvious. Not really considering he's been injured virtually the whole time.
Scow Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Not really considering he's been injured virtually the whole time. It doesn't really matter - he's not a footballer anyway. Even Megson can see that. A League 2 club is calling.
Mikey Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I hope Bolton go down now, even behind Derby. Garrrryyy Megson What A willy puller, What A willy puller. Anybody? Sorry...
Raj Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I hope Bolton go down now, even behind Derby. Garrrryyy Megson What A willy puller, What A willy puller. Anybody? Sorry... Swearing is NOT funny and it DOES NOT make you hard But i agree Megson is a willy puller!
Mikey Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Swearing is NOT funny and it DOES NOT make you hard But i agree Megson is a willy puller! I am Hard. Just please, don't hurt me
Thracian Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 It doesn't really matter - he's not a footballer anyway. Even Megson can see that.A League 2 club is calling. I don't think Megson was here long enough to see anything apart from his way out.
Scow Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I don't think Megson was here long enough to see anything apart from his way out. I suspect Megson and a vast majority of sane managers at a decent level would disregard Elvis.
