Darkzzz_ Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Right before i go bed... as i have JUST got back from London now.....I must tell you how my day went.... Set off from Kettering to Leicester at 1pm.... Had a pint in the sportsbar.... boarded the coach at 2.20.... Departed from The ground about 2.40ish... This is when we all knew we had a twat of a driver.... He was Stoping at green Lights and going on Red ones.... ???!!! Anyway we were moving quite slow in traffic and we got into London at about 6.00pm which we werent expecting..... Then word got round the driver didnt actually know where he was going.... He actually had a Tom Tom which made it worse, but he didnt use it as he didnt know how to set it up.... The driver then proceded to stop at almost every bus stop to either check his map or ask for directions.... A BUS DRIVER WHO NEEDS HELP.....WHAT!!! By the time we got anywhere near the ground it was already 7.15pm...... Obviously Everybody was kicking off.... a lot of people jumped off.... he then decided to miss a couple of turns and take us 2 miles away from the ground, then when we told him he missed the turn, he does a turn in the road on a BLOODY busy road.... Then he goes back and still manages to get lost.... so by this time it was 7.30..... we were still 10 mins from the ground and we all jumped off.... walked through some horrible alleyways and could have got mugged to be honest cos there were some strange ****ers around.... Finally rushed there got in there bang in time for a special night.... "Obviously we all no what happend in the game" Very proud.... all of us were going mental..... Then After the game we had to find the bus.... ok after 10 mins we found him.....No problem.... plenty of singing through the dark chelsea streets..... So everybody gets on and we move off..... After 20 mins we are still in Chelsea, after a Hour we are still in fooking CHELSEA!!! He took us around the block and round the same places over and over again....He was still stopping and asking where to go to get onto the motorway.... Everybody was laying into him as you can imagine.... songs like " you dont know what your doing" and "your getting sacked in the morning".... To be fair he probably will.... he was useless.... the best part about being stuck in London was taking the piss out of the twatish chelsea fans.... but anyway we found the motorway.... moved off slow..... and things camled down.....UNTIL..... as we got closer to home.... he still needed help off a female passenger who sat up top with him and guided the idiot back to Leicester for a good 50 mins..... What a nightmare....i got back home wondering what might have been and also what shouldnt have been..... Be complaining tomorrow like all of that coach 35.... Unlucky Leicester..... Great night for us.... Nightmare Journey.... Feel free to add your comments....
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I hate coaches one bad trip once added double the time on an already long trip never again
SamL Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I was on coach 22 and bluddy hell! It was a joke. Half of the M1 was closed so had to go on shitty diversion! the driver didnt know what she was doin & we didnt get back into leicester about 3.30 Great night though Unlucky boys.
Boycie Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 We got back at 2:30, took the a diversion through some place think the road was the A5. Still very proud of the lads!
Micky Ruddle Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Bus 25. George Tebbutt. Churchill (FT) Hot Chocolate. Spilt. Boiling Hot. Scolding. Angry. No sleep. Well, 25 minutes worth. But yeah. Brilliant night though. Good set of coaches at the Walkers.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Least you made kickoff. Delays on the f**king tube, we missed McAuley's goal.
A fox for life Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 i had a night mare journey by car. left notts (where i live dont judge...) at 4.00 M1 was a nightmare got to london at 6:45 we were doing ok got on the tube changed on to the district line with plenty of time and then apparently some idiot commited suicide or somthing which ment the train we were stuck on took 45 mins. arrived at the ground at 8:30!!!!! missed the whole of the first half. Awesome match! then on the way back two sets of roadworks and an accident, arrived back home at 3:30, at work at 06:30 priceless trip
lcfc_til_i_die Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I was on coach number 20, not the worst trip ever but the driver decided to take a 30 mile de-tour via cov first! WTF got dropped off in nowheresville with 45mins til Kick off, downed a quick pint in the slug and then watched one of the best LCFC games ever! Got home about 1.30 ish, overall amazing night for city fans everywhere.
Bojimha Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Everybody was laying into him as you can imagine.... songs like " you dont know what your doing" and "your getting sacked in the morning".... To be fair he probably will.... he was useless.... To be fair i sympathise with you having that hellish trip but that part must have been so so funny! I bet he was bricking himself.
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 November 2007 Author Posted 1 November 2007 Yeah now i have recharged the batteries i now looked back on that night with such pride..... The bus driver really must have been shitting it, but he didnt seem to care he looked like smauel L jackson high on crack.....Right gangster.... Anyway....feel for the guy who was stuck on the tube for 45 mins....
syston_fox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 coach 7 full of screaming 10 year olds - one of them had a birthday or something. They all tried singing and got either the tune or the words wrong...... wouldnt have minded the singing if it was normal but their high pitched screeching cut through me like a knife!!! And as soon as we hit london they sang "Who are ya" non stop for 10 bloody minutes!!! Our coach driver was also useless - we hit london in good time and were the 1st coach their but she then went on some crazy diversion through some side streets and we were one of the last to park up and get off. We saw the ground and then kept driving for a good 15 minutes going round in circles.
Bert Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 The Maybes/Bert/Wilkesy convoy will have got home at around 0420-0500 with me being fropped off first and Wilksey bless him, getting home at 0500. When we heard the tube had broke down, we got off and followed these Chelsea fans, who got on another tube line and then walked from Earl's court. So we got the game on time. Cut my head ater headbutting Maybes when DJ scored. Then after the game Maybes got lost with another mate of ours, so we said we'd meet him at Earl's court, 45 minutes later, they turn up at Earl's Court, wrong entrance. Had a McDonalds, then finally got on the tube, where we got talking to these pissed up american students, 2 of whom where fit, albeit, one was up the spout. Got to Stanmore about 1230. Them bloomin roadworks were a pain in the ass as well, so we played this football game to pass the time, when we finally got moving it wasn't too long until we hit the accident and had to use the dirty diversion, which took quite a long time to get round. After a good four hours of laughs in the car, we finally got back to Leicester. Brilliant night.
Foxy1984 Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Had a bit of a tube nightmare myself. Got onto the District Line at Cannon St... Got as far as Mansion House.. The driver said we'd been told we could move off but we'd be stopping in a tunnel between there and the next station and he didn't know how long for. So I got off the tube with 45 mins til kick off.. looked for alternatives. Buses took 59 mins to fulham broadway.. Took a lot of cash out of a cash point and eventually managed to find a taxi! That took forever too! Got there with 5 mins on the clock.. just in time for the first goal!
Mr Happy Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 I was on coach 22 and bluddy hell! It was a joke. Half of the M1 was closed so had to go on shitty diversion! the driver didnt know what she was doin & we didnt get back into leicester about 3.30Great night though Unlucky boys. You were one of the unlucky passengers aboard coach 22 and all then The whole journey back took longer than coming back from S'Hampton or Plymouth a couple of seasons ago, female driver didn't know where she was going and what with the road works too, twas a complete and utter shambles! Thankfully the boys did us proud
General Smuts Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Took me bout an hour or so to get home. Really was very little effort. Walked to Earl's Court from the ground, hopped on a tube to kings cross then on the train to home in Hatfield. What a right kerfuffle that was The only joy i get from living down south!

Simi Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Least you made kickoff. Delays on the f**king tube, we missed McAuley's goal. Yeah I guess you'dof been on the same one as a couple of my mates. We managed to get there early enough to get there on time, ended up getting a bus to Fulham Broadway, then to Slug and Lettuce which was rocking, even though we were outside.
