Kisnorbo In Line For Powerade Award

Posted on: Fri 02 Nov 2007

Patrick Kisnorbo has been nominated for October's Powerade Player of the Month Award.

The 26-year-old Australian international defender will compete with Watford's Marlon King, Ishmael Miller of WBA, and Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross for the prestigious award.

Kisnorbo helped the Foxes keep four clean sheets out of five in the Championship during last month and netted the second goal during City's 2-0 victory over Barnsley last Saturday.

The winner will be announced on Monday (November 5) at approximately 7pm on the Big League Weekend 2 on Sky Sports 1.

good to see our players getting recognition

Kissa deserves it by far, one of the best defenders in the league and by far the best defender at leicester in years. If he was to leave are back line would fall to pieces. Been the main reason why we have not conceded that many goals.

Remember he was part the same defence and team that has been fighting relegation for the past 2 seasons!!!

Don't think our defense has really been our main problem tbh. Its the fact that we haven't been able to score enough goals thats been out main problem.

Wasn't Kissa fault, he had the likes paddy mccarthy and alan maybury playing along side him. Even John Terry would had struggled playing with them clowns.

I'm not saying Kissa is that bad but he's nothing special, he's ok at this level, but to say he's 'one of the best defenders' in the division makes me laugh, sorry!!!

To be honest Terry would struggle with the tripe we've had but i've seen Kisnorbo play enough times to say Terry would struggle with him also, Kisnorbo has made his fair share of calamities etc, he's ok in the air, his positional sense is ok, he's not really a natural leader and his footballing abilities are similar to mine!!! The only reason the defence has tightened up this season is due to us playing three at the back, and possible addition of N'Gotty!!

How many clean sheets did we keep last season, and how many goals did we leak from set pieces, this season we have played 3 at the back, which has made us alittle harder to beat!!

Have these people missed Fulop's performances? Hopefully Scumderland have too and we buy him cheep come Jan

If not we can always get the reliable Rab Douglas back

Haha 'ok' in the air. You're obviously not one who likes dishing out praise.

Kisnorbo has been generally excellent for 2 seasons and is still viewed with suspicion by some because shock horror, he doesn't bring the ball out from the back or his distribution isn't the best (see Taggart etc etc).

He's an exceptionally solid defender at this level and his goals are crucial to us considering our lack of creativity from open play. As such, he's hugely important to us.

Looks like Kissa didn't quite cut the mustard then, seeing as he didn't even finish third or get a mention. It went to Shawcross.
