Unit Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 My money is on everybody bricking it about terrorists but really somebody just didn't stub their fag out.
lcfc_jme Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 They were caused by immigrants. If that theory isn't right, it must be terrorists. If it's not terrorists, it's Teenage Hoodies. And if it isn't them, then it HAS to be Global Warming. .

DB11 Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7090725.stm Firefighters are continuing to tackle a blaze at a disused warehouse close to where the main stadium for the London Olympics will be built. Black smoke could be seen across the skyline as flames engulfed the building in Waterden Road, Hackney Wick, east London, at about 1200 GMT on Monday. Rail services have been suspended between Dalston Kingsland and Stratford but roads in the area remain open. The Olympic Delivery Authority said there would be a full investigation. The warehouse is on the western edge of the proposed site of the Olympic Village and was due to be demolished in the next few months. About 75 firefighters were called to the site when the London Fire Brigade was alerted at 1206 GMT. The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident but have so far discounted a terrorist motive. "We have nothing to suggest that this is anything other than a fire at the moment," said a police spokesman. The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) Chief Executive David Higgins said: "Initial indications would suggest that this was an accident rather than arson. "We are in touch with local residents and are keeping them informed of the situation." He said that work was continuing in the rest of the park. The blaze is close to the Channel Tunnel high speed rail link. However Eurostar has said the fire was not having an impact on services. Clear weather conditions meant smoke was visible over large areas of London. Paul Mott, a meteorologist the Press Association, said visibility was generally around 12 to 18 miles. Transport disrupted He added that the north-westerly wind was "fairly light", meaning that the plume would blow south-eastwards. The blaze has not disrupted any flights from nearby London City Airport. Airport spokesman Charles Buchanan said: "There's smoke drifting southwards but it's not interfering with our operations as aircraft continue to arrive and depart. However, we will continue to monitor the situation closely." A Transport for London spokesman said services on the overground line from Richmond were terminating at Dalston Kingsland.
Monk Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Could see it from Liverpool St on my lunch break. Tell you what it was a pretty big cloud! Not as bad as when that fuel depot blew a few years back though
Simi Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Just got back from London. Being there on a school trip, stayed in some Hostel in Piccadilly. Shopping on Oxford Street today.
AoWW Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 I blame AOWW, who was acting on your behalf. You hate London. You'd love to see it burn. She's a puppet on a string for you, really. You should be ashamed, taking advantage of a frail woman. Actually, if truth be told, there could well be something in that seemingly preposterous accusation. I'm none-too-fond of London either so, if Lookydo had asked me to burn the bloody place to the ground (and used his full range of persuasive techniques), I'd have been a willing accomplice. (Obviously, he'd mastermind the whole operation... I'd simply do as he asked, flying in the face of danger without a second thought for my own safety.) Sadly, he didn't ask me. Though, I have to say, I do think Lookydo's to blame. He and his alarmingly overactive core are responsible for all global warming and random wildfires. Never before have I come across a person who naturally generates so much heat. Impressive. Moi, frail though?! Yeah, right.

Tommeh Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Just got back from London. Being there on a school trip, stayed in some Hostel in Piccadilly. Shopping on Oxford Street today. bet it was great mate, I love the place and it startles me how fellow Brits knock it so much ok there is a lot of crime down in south London and some areas are shitted up some what but when you get right into the centre it really is a great place. was last down before the Barnsley home game and had to get a national express from Victoria to Leicester at 11 and leaving London and arriving in Leicester some 3 hours later it really is a culture shock. Plan to spend new year down there too in a travellodge what with QPR away on New years day it all fits very nicely
potter3 Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Darn, I stand corrected You're both wrong, it's DrágonisivÃc, it's disrespectful to miss them off
