In any case enjoy. I've tried the ones in bold. I've heard very good things about Ardbeg. After I've put away this Isle of Jura I'm moving on to that.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Me you and Alex will have to have a monthly whisky night at some quaint little pub in the London backstreets when we move down there. We're both big fans.

Boisdale That place is meant to be incredible - amazing steaks, live jazz, hundreds of whiskies and a cigar room. Oh yeah.

Dr The Singh Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 For those that like their whiskey @ £40 a bottle, I may have to rob one!!!
James. Posted 10 November 2008 Author Posted 10 November 2008 For those that like their whiskey I have his whisky bible for 2008. Great read, his descriptions are quality and clearly written while pissed.
Rocket-Ron Posted 10 November 2008 Posted 10 November 2008 I have his whisky bible for 2008. Great read, his descriptions are quality and clearly written while pissed. "Jim Murray, the guide's author, tasted 1,500 whiskies over the past year before reaching his decision." No wonder if he drinks a little over 4 whiskies a day!
Webbo Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Just out of curiosity I bought a bottle of Canadian Club t'other day. Not bad at all.
Lillehamring Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 me and my two cousins went through a bottle of laphroaig quarter cask in 24 hours, stunning... can't believe no one has mentioned Highland Park - very drinkable, nice and smoky, especially nice to drink in front of the old log-burner
