Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Just saying no point in slating your own players regardless of ability, may aswell get behind them at least then they have the motivation behind them to perform better. I suppose you could be right, a £5000 a week wage packet wouldnt inspire me to do well... Next time im underperforming at work, ill ask my boss to get everyone to sing my name and cheer me on. Might ask him to throw in some clowns and jugglers too. its not all about heading with corts game he brings players into the game well, when he did flick one on there was no one there ?!? if we can get a few Attacking players in in january, Cort might come into his own, im not the biggest fan of corts but if you listened to what Holloway said on RL you'd have felt for him. he went into the physio room and said i desperatly need a striker to start , and cort obviously said ill do it ill give you 60 minutes he did that and then he got booed off? we had no other first team striker avalible today and he gave it a go, yes things didnt go his way but you still shouldnt boo him off I really must have blinked.
Tevez Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Cort requires someone who can play off him. Unfortunately, Hume or Fryatt do not match his requirements.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Well you must have then, people must starting realising that were not a great club and we need to work hard to get back where we used to be under MON, and results dont come easy like most fans think they should
The Reverend Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 As much as i dislike the booing as it does nothing for the player, the guy IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! Its as simple as that.
Samilktray Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I didnt go today but by the sounds of it, it was a poor team effort. So i just cant see the point in singling out Cort, just seems bit off in my eyes.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 No scapegoating as far as I'm concerned, Carl Cort is just a fooking terrible football player. When he's "involved" he only serves as the opposition's extra centre back, getting in the way of any goalbound shots. When he stays out, he offers nothing, unless backing into defenders to do fook all counts as being a striker. On the ball, he suffers from poor control, receiving passes, the ball more often than not bounces off his shin for a throw in. Booing Cort isn't to slate the guy himself, I'm sure he's trying, even if he doesn't make it blindingly obvious, it shows disapproval of the fact that he's in the team. I'd like to think that we had no other options, but Odhiambo was constantly in the back of my mind watching Cort and Sappleton today.
Asha Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 In my opinion Clemence was worse; an absolute fooking disgrace. Was awful, had shots that were nowhere near, and gave the ball away at every opportunity. He should come out and apologise to the fans for a performance like that.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 ok if you was ollie today who would you have started upfront with hume? one of the 2 kids or a bit of experience? id go for Cort anyday
Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Well you must have then, people must starting realising that were not a great club and we need to work hard to get back where we used to be under MON, and results dont come easy like most fans think they should The "Work hard" bit was hilarious, in a thread dedicated to the main man Cort. We're obviously not a big club, struggling towards the bottom of the championship, but we have a bit of money, more than weve had for a while and we should be able to attract players of a better calibre than Cort.
Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 ok if you was ollie today who would you have started upfront with hume? one of the 2 kids or a bit of experience? id go for Cort anyday Chambers. Take a gamble. Why play someone you KNOW is shit, when you can get someone fresh in. How anyone can stick up for Cort is beyond me. He doesn't offer anything to the football we've been playing. He can't jump. He doesn't jump and he doesn't try to jump. The flick on you said he made was most probably the ball hitting the top of his head. Both of his feet did not once get off the ground, together today.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Martin Allen didnt sign Cort because he thought he was shit did he? he brought him in thinking he would do a job for us, obviously he isnt coming out on to the pitch thinking, i know, i will play crap today just to piss the fans off does he, he might not be the best option right now but for gods sake lets get behind him and the rest of um, just til January and then we will see who ollie brings in and see if if he brings a striker in better than Cort
Yaxx Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Just saying no point in slating your own players regardless of ability, may aswell get behind them at least then they have the motivation behind them to perform better. What a silly bloody comment that is. You've obviously got more money than sense (much like the players) if you enjoy paying to watch this shower of shit.
The Stig Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Cort is consistantly bad every time he plays and isn't good enough to be in the team. He is a worse player than De Vries.
Samilktray Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Chambers. Take a gamble. Why play someone you KNOW is shit, when you can get someone fresh in. How anyone can stick up for Cort is beyond me. I wouldnt call it sticking up for him, most people are just saying theres no point in blaming him for all of our problems on the pitch or making it out to be all his fault, after all the team as a whole isnt playing amazingly is it.
Asha Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 ok if you was ollie today who would you have started upfront with hume? one of the 2 kids or a bit of experience? id go for Cort anyday I agree, and it's not like Sappleton or Chambers set the world alight when they came on.
Simi Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 What a silly bloody comment that is. You've obviously got more money than sense (much like the players) if you enjoy paying to watch this shower of shit. I take it you didn't go today? With some people, paying to go and see football is a lot more than 'watching rubbish'
Sods Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Cort is consistantly bad every time he plays and isn't good enough to be in the team. He is a worse player than De Vries. Didnt go chelsea then or preston Get of his back you tit.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 obviously the staff dont think that do they? if he was worse than De Vries, Cort would be out on loan and de vries would be playing,
Samilktray Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 What a silly bloody comment that is. You've obviously got more money than sense (much like the players) if you enjoy paying to watch this shower of shit. Dont remember mentioning my income or saying i enjoy paying to watch us ?
Staf Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Well you must have then, people must starting realising that were not a great club and we need to work hard to get back where we used to be under MON, and results dont come easy like most fans think they should We will never be that good again we will never get out of the bottom half at this rate
Yaxx Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I didnt go today but by the sounds of it, it was a poor team effort. So i just cant see the point in singling out Cort, just seems bit off in my eyes. You twat. Why bother making dickhead comments if you weren't even there? Get your head out of your arse.
WetFlannel Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 i think he is absolutely terrible but im not going to sit here complaining how bad he is... if hes not good enough hes not good enough. End of... why sit here and create petty arguements about it?
Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Martin Allen didnt sign Cort because he thought he was shit did he? he brought him in thinking he would do a job for us, obviously he isnt coming out on to the pitch thinking, i know, i will play crap today just to piss the fans off does he, he might not be the best option right now but for gods sake lets get behind him and the rest of um, just til January and then we will see who ollie brings in and see if if he brings a striker in better than Cort You've not done your argument any justice by going on to Martin Allen, he also signed Casino Jimmy, clearly shit as he hasn't even had a start. And im not arguing that Carl Cort decides to play shit, how stupid is that? He DOES play shit. He CANT play well. It quite literally is FACT.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 obviously the staff dont think that do they? if he was worse than De Vries, Cort would be out on loan and de vries would be playing, Not even Dennis Wise is stupid enough to take Carl Cort off our hands.
Trumpet Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Dont remember mentioning my income or saying i enjoy paying to watch us ? You did, however say that you don't mind as long as he tries. So you obviously dont mind paying to watch that shower of shite. Ill have your money.
