Asha Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Imo the areas of singing groups are too far apart. There should be one section (the whole of the east stand for example) that everyone who wanted to sing and/or stand up the whole match to go to, and everyone else occupy the rest of the ground...needs something like that...away fans are so loud because they're all together.

N Fcking Block I'm fed up of this, we gave people the chance to have this, and they didn't use it regularly enough, now they are moaning they want it back.

N Block in it's day was good enough, but surely we all want something better than that. A WHOLE SECTION, i.e. 5000 of us fans that want to sing all together...creating more of an atmosphere.

We had to start small like N block and work from there, clearly we fell at the 2nd Hurdle.

If we started at the beginning of the season with more people aware of it, surely it would be more successful.

Yet they'll moan about the atmosphere on here, at the pub, with their mates. And then start slagging off chants, but playing chelsea dagger, nah thats fine. Fcks sake.
Asha Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Which is why loadddddddddssssssss of people bought ST there at the start of this season. Yeah I did, thinking the atmosphere would be even better than the season before. Bollocked that idea though. But still believe it can work...somewhere.
Simi Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Yeah I did, thinking the atmosphere would be even better than the season before. Bollocked that idea though. But still believe it can work...somewhere. You plan to do anything about it?
Asha Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 You plan to do anything about it? What can I do? Except sing my heart out every matchday. And keep asking Peter Jones if N Block can be any type of ticket - not just season ticket holders - which stopped people relocated for the odd game or people to buy tickets there for the odd game. Meant it was regulars and regulars only...meaning no possible expansion of numbers or anything like that.
Dagha_07 Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What happend to tryna swap the kop and the north stand .... are people still arguing the case for that ????
Simi Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What happend to tryna swap the kop and the north stand .... are people still arguing the case for that ???? Yes.
Asha Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 What happend to tryna swap the kop and the north stand .... are people still arguing the case for that ???? That's always possible - the usual argument is moving the away fans which can't be done for location reasons.
Sods Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Sell up and relocate to Milton Keynes I say. Franchise bastards.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I managed to come up with a Top 5 Worst Chants thread for the Wolves home game last season, would love someone to find that again. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...c=37141&hl=
Geo V Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Correct me if i'm wrong.Yes, i agree... Better atmosphere was generated at Filbo. But I don't think creating an atmosphere in the Walkers cannot happen. Look at Birmingham last year, for example. It is possible, It just doesn't seem to happen. Of course it can happen but it needs more people to get involved. I can remember when two or three thousand in the the penns would be enough to left the whole stadium and we would encourage the East to "gissa song" and now and again they would. These days we have twice the supporters of the days when I first started supporting City in the late 80s but have less than half the atmosphere. More people need to get involved. Why they cant baffles me. I watch Celtic, Rangers, Newcastle and some other "big teams" with all the fans wearing the replica shirts and men, boys, girls, women, grannies and grand-dads all getting involved and somehow we need to do something about it to get everyone involved. Give everyone a free pie if they start singing
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 I think the problem is that most of the 'old guard' from the Filbert Street Kop that were always in full voice and used to come up with the chants are either distributed around the ground now or just don't go any more. No disrespect to the lads that do sing, but given that most of them are about 18 they don't really inspire everyone else to get involved. What happened to the big shaven headed psychopaths that never stopped singing from start to finish? I used to sing all the time, partly because I was actually scared as to what might happen if I didn't. There's nothing like a bit of fear to get the vocal chords going. I also tended to be a lot drunker then than I am now
FilboFox Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Well then... I think it's clear that we want changes made to the seating so that its more intense in the Walkers. It was great at Filbert Street... I think we need to write to them and see what they say... other than that, lets try and make as much noise as possible against West Brom on Saturday!

I also tended to be a lot drunker then than I am now Just about right, you can't blame the lads coming through now really, many are about my age, and never got to saple 'the good old days' luckily my dad used to take me to games when I was about 10 and I got a slice of filbertstreet left in my memory and I know what proper support is. The young lads going now, don't have anyone to 'look up to' and therefore just spurt on the nonsense we hear today.

I also tended to be a lot drunker then than I am now See thats the thing right there. When I first went aged about 15 I used to sing (after a few games) but wouldn't dream of starting a song at old Filbo but by the time I was about 17 or 18 I would start a load when that dude with the gravelly voice didnt start them ( don't know who he was). The thing is that the younger lads who are 18-20 who have already been going for a few years should be confident enough to start some chants and rally those around. Its not like our ground is full of old dudes who dont want to get involved. We have a decent share of "lads" in there late teens and mid 20s who should all congregate together along with us old guard to get things going again. I am one who sits in a different seat practically every game and mostly I have been disappointed with the interaction by the fans and even when I get up to attempt to start one I get looked at like I raped someones daughter or something. (Its probably my London accent that gets that look )
Dames Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Most young lads only come to the football these days because they've seen Green Street.
Geo V Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Most young lads only come to the football these days because they've seen Green Street. Is that like Sesame Street?
