Coventry Takeover...

Greek billionaire businessman Alki David has entered talks to buy cash-strapped Coventry City.

David has spoken to City chairman Joe Elliott and revealed that negotiations are at a "very good" stage.

He confirmed to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire that he expects a deal to be done before Thursday's deadline when the club must prove its solvency or enter administration.

The Sky Blues say they are still fully committed to a bid from Ray Ranson.

Last week the club announced they were looking to go into administration in order to bring to a head the takeover talks with Ranson.

But if the club were to do so they would incur a 10-point deduction and drop into the bottom three of the Championship.

If David took over he would be responsible for Coventry's £38m debt and would hope to keep manager Iain Dowie at the helm.

Former Crystal Palace boss Dowie has claimed that he would review his position at the club if they were to go into administration.

I want them to go into admin though :(

What you'll no doubt have learned - or will learn - at some point (usually around the time of your birthday or perhaps Christmas) is that I want, don't get.

Billionaire Alki David has ditched his plans to buy Coventry, saying the club is falling apart. (The Sun)

'Alki David's Road to Hell' can be seen at Alki's website www.filmon.com and features numerous pranks on the general public, most notably, 'gullible' people who want to appear films & TV shows, without realising Alki's background.

So when will Administration be announced for them? Because tomorrows the day isn't it? Morning? Mid-Day? Afternoon?

Surly it's almost a dead-cert?

I mean the amount of weeks it was delayed with Milan, and other clubs takeovers surly something would have been sorted by now? Or at least rumblings and rumours?

All i'll say and have been saying on this situation and other clubs situations is - What goes around come around. Hindsight is a great thing isn't it? Back in the day when Coventry voted for a points deduction.

Apparently according to the local news (Central News) which I didn't see, I'm going off what i've been told the deadline is 4pm tomorrow.

God knows why it has been well publicized the deadline was Thursday :dunno:

No doubt they'll keep moving the goalposts, come 4pm tomorrow it's probably be 5pm Monday

Legally they can't. If it's not done by the deadline they're in administration, simple as.

COVENTRY CITY'S takeover saga is going down to the wire.

Although negotiations dragged on late into last night, no agreement had been reached as the clock ticked down towards today's 4.00pm deadline that would force the Sky Blues into administration.

But chairman Joe Elliott remains confident that a deal will finally be concluded to put millionaire ex-footballer Ray Ranson in control at the Ricoh Arena.

Elliott said: "It's going to be an 11th hour situation, but we still remain very positive."

It is understood that late last night Ranson was involved in a conference call from his home in Manchester with other interested parties, but the deal could still not be finalised.
