==================

Leicester City Academy go into this week's FA Youth Cup clash with Blackburn on a high after recording their fourth consecutive win.

The City youngsters won 2-0 at Watford on Saturday to leave them second in the FA Academy Premier League Group B table.

Goals in each half from Craig King and Ricky Sappleton gave City the win in difficult conditions.

Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "It was hard going for the lads.

"The conditions were very poor but they stuck to their task and put in a good performance.

"It is always good to keep a clean sheet."

The Academy now turn their attention to the visit of Blackburn to the Walkers Stadium on Wednesday night (7.0).

Rudkin said: "We know we are in for a tough match, but we will be looking to mirror some of our excellent performances so far this season.

"It would be great to see as many of our supporters turn up on the night and cheer the lads on."

Admission is £3 for over-16s and £1 for under-16s.

==========

Sounds a reasonable scalp because Watford invariably provide keen opposition.

No. Not as far as I'm aware.

Craig is a lad who was introduced to the Academy set-up a little earlier than most.

He's got stacks of skill and energy plus an eye for goal.

His biggest problem when I saw him was that he tended to be greedy so wasted a lot of good opportunities by ignoring the runners.

But, he was very young and I'm sure the coaches will get the balance right. Promising player.

Sappleton has enough annoying bum-boys without you joining in too.

Steady on. Only a bit of a laugh.

I've seen the 13's and 14's a couple of times this season, seems they're a good bunch actually. There's a striker for one of the teams, can't remember the rest that is a class above the rest.
