Well if it takes one day to double (something like that) and the whole city is full of water after 60 days then to be half full it should take X days. Remember these 1 day to DOUBLE 60 days to be full HALF (which is the opposite to DOUBLE) the amount of water means you take away how many days If you still don't get it, I will go on. If a tub carries 8 litres of water, and you double the amount of water in it each hour then it will go like this. Starts off with 1 litre, after an hour you see that there is 1 litre in so you put in another litre. 2 hours = 2 litres so far. After the next hour you know that there is 2 litres so you put another 2 litres in. 3 hours = 4 litres. After the next hour, you see that there is already 4 litres of water so you put in another 4 litres. 4 hours = 8 litres. I hope that explains it
