Milan's Money Means Very Little Now!

Recommended Posts

With so many clubs receiving additional investment, Cov, Ipswich and Sheff Weds (next) any adavantage we may have had has dissipated.

Sure we've got more than last year but anyone relying on 'Milan's Millions' to make the difference is in for a big disappointment.

We really do need to knuckle down, stop talking about the MM money factor, the big stadium, the training ground etc and start fighting for our place in this league.

All this talk of we'll be ok in January is just making things worse and frankly it's beginning to grate, people are deluding themselves MM wont be spending millions and even if he did others can now compete even QPR have funding, besides that's not what's going to save us.

It will help but what gets teams out of relegation situations first and foremost is determination and belief; we're not going to turn into some super dooper footballing team overnight on January 1st.

It's seems like Tuesday is rant day :D

No truer words. That's why I'd go 5-3-2 for away games, perhaps even at home until the squad improves. I see no sense weakening out team by pretending we've got players for certain areas when we haven't.

Agree completely. Not sure his money will ever be enough in toda'ys game. Interesting that cov can pay off their debt and have 20million to invest.

I agree, I actually wish Gary Megson was still our manager, NO JOKE.

It is all about quality now. There is no point signing 10 players in Jan. We need to bring in 4 quality players. They should be better that what we have now. Get shot of anyone who is not willing to fight and bring the remaining group together. All this talk of mass clear outs and lack of quality is tosh. Every club in this league has a bunch of mostly ordinary players who are topped up with a bit of real quality in those at the top.

We don't need another overhaul, we need some stability, some coaching and some patience.

I knew these sort of comments would start to surface sooner or later.

MMs living in the past ;

his degree of wealth was influential maybe 10 years ago but now he has become a small fish in a bigger pool :(

I would rather we ended up in the conference than watch us under megson NO JOKE

Milans money will mean nothing until January and maybe even then it will stand for fook all

It's amazing how fickle football fans are.

I apologise if I'm wrong, but I bet you were delighted when Megson left us and Holloway joined.

I have a feeling that the players we sign in jan will spark a revival. Just a hunch.

One thing is for sure, they can't be any worse than what we already have.

I wouldn't look at it so negatively.

Football management is simple. Buy good players and get them organized and succeed, buy shite and struggle. Unfortunately MA/MM/Whoever has managed to bring some real average players over and not many have actually impressed apart from Fulop and he is just on loan.

MMs money still is very important to this football club. There may well be clubs who are in stronger financial positions than we are at the moment after takeovers etc but the fact is players will want to choose us over the rank shite clubs like Hull and we can still spend in the transfer market despite not being in a positive league position.

From my recent forays I'm starting to believe that the quality of posting on this forum is directly, positively correlated to the quality of football that Leicester play.

What so you mean when we're in the Premiership we all post like poche tosspots...?

So Milans money means very little.... apart from we were skint before he bailed us out. We were a club in debt with absolutly no prospects for the future. An Abramovic he might not be but at least we still have a club to support thanks to him.

Why City fans think that the Club deserves better players and Premier League Football is beyond me, there is a rebuilding process happening before your eyes and all you seem to be focusing on is the negatives.

We can compete in the transfer market, maybe not win all of the transfers that Ollie wants but at least we can now enter the race. A damn sight better than in previous years.

Agreed, but many people still have the belief that we can buy any player with our money and that we have 10 million or so every transfer window...just naievity...we can compete, but we dont own it

You seen the light then, I have been banging on about other clubs having investment for months on here (you seemed to be repeating my threads David G) these were wolves and sheff utd (£10m) at the time and I also mentioned S Weds and a potential bid from Paul Allen from Microsoft for Southampton.

They are all looking at the potential ROI it they get to the premier league

I have a suspicion that MM doesn't want us to get promoted this year, as he will be paying more to the shareholders (of old) X amount in the pound where as it would be alot cheaper over the 2nd and 3rd year.

The monies he would save would then be used to reinvest in the team and therefore he really hasn't dipped in his pocket so to speak, the whole squad (14 players so to speak) came in as the other were either out of contract or found new clubs. He got 650,000 for Paddy Mac and used this to prize Dj from brum, again who was 1.5m and extra based on appearances.

Other clubs now have a 'sugar daddy' and are in a better league position, and therefore unless he invests heavily and on players of quality we will be same old same old for the next few seasons. Like most LCFC fans I too had high hopes this year but the chairman has gone through more managers than we have had WINS at home

The light was always there for me, I did hope that MM's ownership would result in some improvement in quality but I never assumed that that alone would be enough. I still don't.

No, the payments due to the ex-shareholders will be the same whether we reach the PL this season (fat chance! :crylaugh: ) or in 2010

The chairman hasn't really dipped in his pockets that much, certainly in comparison to some of the other clubs in this league. The net spending in the summer was only around £2.5 million - and much of this would have been recouped by the sponsorship deals with Jako and Topps Tiles.

Mandaric is also servicing the club's debts rather than paying them off. Unless and until the stadium passes into the club's hands we will continue to be financially vulnerable.
