Milan's Money Means Very Little Now!

No, the payments due to the ex-shareholders will be the same whether we reach the PL this season (fat chance! :crylaugh: ) or in 2010

The chairman hasn't really dipped in his pockets that much, certainly in comparison to some of the other clubs in this league. The net spending in the summer was only around £2.5 million - and much of this would have been recouped by the sponsorship deals with Jako and Topps Tiles.

Mandaric is also servicing the club's debts rather than paying them off. Unless and until the stadium passes into the club's hands we will continue to be financially vulnerable.

b) Under the New Articles, the Ordinary Shareholders will grant the Investor

an option to purchase all or some of their shares at a price of £0.10 per

Ordinary Share (plus any additional consideration that may be payable if certain

conditions are met). The Call Option will be exercisable on any number of

occasions as the Investor wishes and at any time before 15 August 2010. The

additional consideration for the Ordinary Shares will be calculated and payable

as follows:

i. if the Club is

promoted to the Premier League at the end of any of the 2007/2008 Season, the

2008/2009 Season or the 2009/2010 Season for the next following Season (the '

First Premiership Season'), then the Investor will pay an additional £0.40 per

Ordinary Share to the Ordinary Shareholders on 15 August in the year that the

Club is promoted to the Premier League;

ii. if the Club is promoted

to the Premier League at the end of any of the 2007/2008 Season, the 2008/2009

Season or the 2009/2010 Season for the next following Season (the 'First

Premiership Season') and the Club remains in the Premier League for the Season

immediately following the First Premiership Season (the 'Second Premiership

Season'), then the Investor will pay (in addition to the amount specified in

paragraph (a) above) an additional £0.50 per Ordinary Share to the Ordinary

Shareholders on 15 August in the year that the Club commences its Second

Premiership Season.

If neither of the conditions set out in paragraphs (i) and (ii) above are met

then the Ordinary Shareholders will receive £0.10 per Ordinary Share at the time

of the exercise of the Call Option by the Investor.

If the Club has not been promoted to the Premier League at the end of any of the

2007/2008 Season, the 2008/2009 Season or the 2009/2010 Season and the Investor

has not given notice to exercise its Call Option by 15 August 2010 in respect of

all of the Existing Ordinary Shares and there has not been a Qualifying Offer,

the Ordinary Shareholders shall be deemed to have given notice to the Investor

to exercise an option to put all the Ordinary Shares on to the Investor at a

price of £0.10 per Ordinary Share.

If the Club is promoted to the Premier League, at the end of any of the 2007/

2008 Season, the 2008/2009 Season or the 2009/2010 Season and the Investor has

not given notice to exercise its Call Option by 15 August in the year that the

Club achieves promotion to the Premier League in respect of all the Existing

Ordinary Shares and there has not been a Qualifying Offer, the Ordinary

Shareholders shall be deemed to have given notice to the Investor to exercise an

option to put all of their remaining Ordinary Shares on to the Investor at a

price of £0.50 per Ordinary Share. In such event, and if the Club remains in

the Premier League for the Season immediately following the First Premiership

Season, Ordinary Shareholders would also be entitled to receive an additional

£0.50 per Ordinary Share on 15 August in the year that the Club commences its

second Season in the Premier League.

These arrangements therefore provide Ordinary Shareholders with a return or

partial return of their investment by 29 August 2010. Ordinary Shareholders

will receive a minimum of £0.10 per Ordinary Share unless the Club has attained

a place in the Premier League at the end of the 2007/2008 Season, the 2008/2009

Season or the 2009/2010 Season. As provided for above, further consideration

will also be payable if the Club remains in the Premier League for the following

Season. The Ordinary Shareholders will not otherwise participate in any future

gains or losses on their shares.

I think there are now a lot of clubs becoming rich or even richer than ours, stadiums will start springing up to, as good, maybe even better than ours. I still think there is time to be one of those promoted clubs in the next two, maybe three years BUT we have to spend now and spend lots and really invest in our team. We don't have to worry about training facilities or the Stadium, as these are all set up for the Prem (as we are told over and over!!!). The summer was a massive disapointment for me, as I really thought we would be spending millions on players. As it works out maybe it was a good thing we didn't as MA signings have been woeful. I'm not sure if Jan will truely demonstrate MM's spending intentions, as I see this to get the right players in to stay up. I think the Summer transfer activity will be the key, and demonstate to us, how much MM is willing to spend to get us in the Prem. I think we are realistically going to have to spend 10 million to mount a serious title challenge next season, but if we have another summer similar to last, then a lot of fans, me included, will really start to doubt our long-term prospects of ever getting back there. Whilst more and more clubs get taken over and Leicester is no longer a club with spending power! The thing that has always intrigued me, is how rich is MM, is he really as rich as some think and would he ever even consider spending millions on players!!

If you're looking at 10 mill you're going to be very disappointed.

If strikers like DJ Campbell cost 1.6 (2.1) million, then 10 million would be the LEAST :frusty:

Everyone's overpriced now. 1.6 million for DJ Campbell, a player who only scored 9 championship goals last season, and without a premiership goal to his name, in my opinion was rediculous. I wouldn't have gone over £500,000 for him.

I agree, I actually wish Gary Megson was still our manager, NO JOKE.

I am glad he has gone the unloyal ****

No truer words. That's why I'd go 5-3-2 for away games, perhaps even at home until the squad improves. I see no sense weakening out team by pretending we've got players for certain areas when we haven't.

5-3-2, were not that bad!!! sunday team`s play formations like that!

Its going to be very hard for us to compete in January especially with the way the market is at the moment. As Davie says, so many teams with new investment and quite a few of them are in a similar position to us. QPR to name one of them. Looks like we're going to be relying on the 'big club factor' again.

But seriously, I don't think Ollie will necessarily going for big names with big price tags. As he's shown at Plymouth he can do good things with players he knows well. I'd rather see Ollie bring in a couple of players that want to work for him and that are a good standard, than another player that will just not live up to his name and end up rotting away on a big wage.

I feel the big question is HO MUCH MONEY IS MILAN PREPARED TO SPEND.

Sorry for shouting, but has MM really ever spent a great deal on players?

Don't know if he spent much in the past with Portsmouth, is he prepared to do it here. :dunno:

It's one thing making bold statements about getting promotion, it's another when it comes down to buying the players that will get you there.

Time will tell, but I'm not expecting any major money signings.

It's all relative but I think it's fair to say he's not a renowned big spender in terms of transfer fees but does seem to put up attractive wages hence the likes of N'Gotty et al.

Nor am I. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he saved us from the gutter but he never spent a lot at Pompey. He struck lucky when he came across Harry Redknap, one of the most connected and respected people in football. Pompey's success is a story of Redknap, not Mandaric.

Oh how I wish we had a Redknap. Unfortunately we have had a string of second raters running playing affairs, and I don't see an end to that yet.

Milan goes missing

A number of Leicester City shareholders were unhappy over the absence at this week's AGM of chairman Milan Mandaric.

They had wanted to question him about payments to agents, particularly to Barry Silkman, who handled most of the summer deals. Mandaric, however, was on business in Serbia.

With so many clubs receiving additional investment, Cov, Ipswich and Sheff Weds (next) any adavantage we may have had has dissipated.

Sure we've got more than last year but anyone relying on 'Milan's Millions' to make the difference is in for a big disappointment.

We really do need to knuckle down, stop talking about the MM money factor, the big stadium, the training ground etc and start fighting for our place in this league.

All this talk of we'll be ok in January is just making things worse and frankly it's beginning to grate, people are deluding themselves MM wont be spending millions and even if he did others can now compete even QPR have funding, besides that's not what's going to save us.

It will help but what gets teams out of relegation situations first and foremost is determination and belief; we're not going to turn into some super dooper footballing team overnight on January 1st.

It's seems like Tuesday is rant day :D

SPOT ON!!!

Its going to be EXTREMELY HARD to attract quality here when we are in or around the relagation area, lets take Derby's Steve Howard for example (if) he becomes available in the January window I dont see Leicester City as his first choice if the likes of Ipswich, WBA, Chalton, are in for him, and that goes for any quality player we may be looking to sign, being in the "zone" is a new low for LCFC and not a great selling point, is it ? :(

Posted
I'm not bothered about Ipswich, WBA and Charlton, it's QPR who we'll have to watch out for now

I couldnt give a fcuk about Ipswich,WBA,Charlton OR fcuking QPR.

If we start producing some decent stuff and start doing something we havent done for a few years...ie WInNING FCUKING FOOTBALL MATCHES....who cares about the other teams!!???

Sorry for any offence!!!Happy Xmas! :santa:

Posted

The likes of Ipswich,WBA, Charlton are exactly the teams we will be up against when the transfer window opens, They all have the same amount of cash as us (Probably more)....and I would suggest we need ( QUALITY PLAYERS) a tad more than those FCUKERS

WE ARE SH*TE !!!! PEOPLE ARE PRAISING A MUCH IMPROVED DISPLAY AT WOLVES WHAT A FOOKIN JOKE WE HARDLY STRUNG 3 PASSES TOGETHER ALL FOOKIN GAME!!!

We cannot consistantly WIN FOOTBALL MATCHES without new quality players, these are going to be at a premium when the transfer window opens and the likes of Ipswich, WBA, and Charlton are going to be ahead of us (mainly because of their league standings and our SH*TE one)...who cares about them?? NOT ME! ..But I do envy their supporters
