Thought Stears was very good today. Well timed tackles, vital interceptions, he virtually neutralised the right flank. This is why we get frustrated with him because we know of his potential. He should be proud of that performance.

Collins John was a huge dissapointment for me today, always stayed offside and never made an effort to get back onside. Missed two glorious chances to win the game for us. When he had the chances he looked really lazy. Gutted.

Fulop - 7 - Solid, as always.

Stearman - 8 The kind of performance we all wish he turned in every week. Can't think of anything exceptionally bad from him, although the passing could still do with being a little better.

Kisnorbo - 6 Mostly good, but caught out once or twice. Completely static on their disallowed goal.

McAuley - 7 A reliable performance, but nothing exceptional.

Mattock - 6 Got beaten a few times, but did a reasonable job and got forward quite well at times.

Chambers - 7 Great workrate and did rather well, I thought. Worked well with Stearman too.

Clemence - 7 A solid game, but didn't really impose himself on it that much.

N Gotty - 6 He had a role to do, and he more or less did it, but wasn't quick enough on several occasions, and like when Levein tried Kisnorbo in a similar role, I don't think his passing is quite up to it.

Hume - 8 Put in the effort, scored a good goal and generally played well.

Fryatt - 6 Had a reasonable game and had a few flashes of quality, but struggled to really create much.

John - 6 Created a few chances, but completely wasted them. He seemed to be very rusty.

Without looking at other ratings yet

Fulop 7 Solid

Stearman 7 Good game, controlled Jarvis well, in fact much better than Mattock did when Jarvis changed sides

McAuley 7 Solid

Kisnorbo 6 Equally solid until he stopped tracking back in the last few strides before the equaliser

Mattock 6 Looks better going forward than defending, several nice attacking crosses

Chambers 6, Hard running decent game

Clemence 6 Solid as a defensive midfielder, creatively zilch

NGotty 7, Effective in the role in front of the back 4

Hume 7.5 Great goal

Fryatt 8 Caused them all sorts of problems first half

John 5, two 1-on-1s has to finish at least one of them. Lazy as usual, but got into the right positions which was encouraging

It wasn't malicious though, he stuck his arm out to stop Jarvis coming from that side of him but caught him in the face because Jarvis seemed to be ducking a fair bit.

Fulop- As per. We need to sign him big time. Just never makes a mistake or even looks like hes going to.

Stearman- This is what frustrates people. Played very well today, but why does it take us to be in front of the cameras for him to perform? His best performance for a long while.

Kizza- Solid, should of got tighter for their goal, great defender but not much else.

Big Mac- See above.

Mattock- Poor. Not quick enough for a full back. Gets skinned when against pacy opposition and looked seriously out of his depth. Whips a good ball in though. Try him at left midfield.

N'Gotty- Difficult one to rate - lots of effort, a few good balls but was pretty anonymous. The one thing with N'Gotty is he always offers a pass out of defence which was good for the hoofers at the back today. At his age though, i think playing in midfield is too much.

Clem- Spectator most of the time. I think he holds the midfield well together, but he isnt the type of player that will create something out of nothing. Needs someone creative alongside him.

Chambers- Great energy, constant harrying, but his passing is not good enough to play in midfield.

Hume- Brilliant free kick, but not much else. Strikers are paid to score and he did that.

Fryatt- Frustrating. Showed some glimpses of what a good player he can become. Too inconsistent.

John- Poor, poor and poor again. Two clear cut chances, one on ones, and he couldnt put either away. Extremely disappointing. Was'nt match fit, you could tell, and i will put his misses down to that.

In the first half, it was clear we had a game plan - suffocate them and dont let there creative players a chance to do what they do best. I think the energy and drive of Chambers, as well as the the calmness of N'gotty helped the midfield in this department, and it was not pretty, but Ollies tactics seemed to be working.

Then their class showed, we seemed to tire after the energetic first half performance, and they hit us on the breakway after we had a free kick in an attacking position. Perhaps should of brought Kenton on earlier i thought to liven the midfield up, especially with Eastwood and Keogh coming on.

I think people have been a bit harsh on Fryatt i thought he was very lively first half and faded out second because the delivery was very poor.

Hume  every time i see him play i like him more and more just never stops he is the sort of player every manager would love in there squad

I love these ratings threads after a live game, because it just goes to show that despite us watching the same game from the same kind of angle, we all see things and rate things so differently! Anyway I`ll go for....

Fulop 7

Stearman 8

McAuley 7.5

Kisnorbo 8

Mattock 6

N'Gotty 7

Chambers 7

Clemence 7.5

Hume 7

Fryatt 7

John 6.5

John did well and got into good positions and was in the peno box which is what we need. He would have scored higher had he converted one of the two good chances he had. Clemence was very good, blocking, intercepting and giving simple passes whilst the defence were impressive, especially Stearman and Kisnorbo although once again young Mattock was the weakest link back there. Hopefully with more games under his belt he`ll learn the position a lot better than he does at the moment. N`Gotty was good but he hasn't got the legs anymore and Fryatt does what he does, some great touches, lovely runs and no end product which leaves me banging my head against the wall in frustration as he could be a real handful at this level.

Good display, full of hunger and looked dare I say it....ORGANIZED!!

I don't understand the high ratings for Kisnorbo. He lost his man terribly for their goal in what is the most basic of errors. Wolves only had one man in the box, that was the only threat and Kisnorbo was nowhere near.

Add to that his distribution from the back, which continually put us under pressure. When Wolves were in the ascendency, we needed to keep the ball for a bit. Now all players were guilty of this, but the back four need to realise (and particularly Kisnorbo being the marshall of the defence) that they will usually be under less pressure when passing the ball about. I think one example summed it up for me in the middle of the second half when Kisnorbo dribbled 4 or 5 yards slowly out of defence to be closed down and then under pressure hoof it upfront where Wolves took possession to build another attack. Of all the things he could have done, that was possibly the worst option bar dribbling and hoofing it into our own goal.

Subs not enough time to impress.

Ollie 6- Set us up exactly right and we looked very organised and half-decent going forard. BUT Kenton and Hayes should have been on earlier. Kenton to counter the maurauding forward runs of Keogh and Eastwood when N'Gotty was clearly tiring and Hayes to provide some useful impetus down the left.
