Milky Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 I'm suprised with those stearman ratings, i thought he was out of position too often.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop -7- Good handling. Stearman -8- Credit to the lad, the best i've seen him defend in a long time and was always willing to get forward. Kisnorbo -8- Back to his best i thought, defended superbly although Jarvis lost him to easily for their goal. McAuley -7- Not quite as good as Kisnorbo but defended well. Mattock -6.5- Marked Gibson out of the game but struggled when Jarvis swapped flanks. Chambers -7- Good to see him back, full of energy. Shame he will miss a game through suspension now. N'Gotty -6- Was tidy in midfield, passing not the best. Clemence -7- Improved performance from him, some excellent defensive work in the second half. Hume -7- Great goal, didnt do much else. Worked hard. Fryatt -6.5 - Good first half but didnt see much of the ball in second half. John -6- Im going to give the credit to Hennesey for his first chance, was excellent keeping but should have scored the second one. I still thought we look much more threatening with him in the team.
morris1234 Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop 7 - not too much today. same as. Stearman 8 - didnt give up, easily won the jarvis/ bothroyd battle down the right. McAuley 8- strong, commanding. Kisnorbo 8 - aware, strong, determined. Mattock 6 - was poor, couldnt pass. however some very very nice crosses. N'Gotty 6 - not bad some good passes(makes a change) but getting on a bit so couldnt keep up with the pace. Chambers 5 - poor not a midfielder, didnt do anything. Clemence 6 - was ok needs to do more ot get the lads to listen and get their heads up Hume 8 - same as usual played for his shirt. Fryatt 7 - very determined, nice touches, good game. John 6- wasnt lazy at all but didnt look fit and was dire in front of goal i was just incredibly disappointed that at times we couldnt pass the ball. simple as, we didnt know when to hold the ball, when to pass it aorund and when to the long ball was needed. i know were low on confidence but a lot of the time in the second half nobody wanted the ball and nobody moved so no wonder we lost the ball all the time. anyway good first half dire second. could have been 3-0 up but thats football. good away point!
Bryn Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop 7 - Not a lot he could have done for the goal, solid otherwise. Will be missed. Stearman 6.5 - Better but still so so casual in possession. Felt he kept Jarvis pretty quiet, a good defensive display, but Keogh was a threat before he switched flanks. Tried to get forward at times but as a team we have problems attacking. Mattock 6 - Decent defensively, though he looked like he could be skinned at times. Two great crosses and a couple of decent runs down the left side. Potential is there in him. McAuley 7 - Very solid. Distribution looked better with N'Gotty to play to ball out to, but still hoof at times. I wouldn't say that was the root of our problems by any means tonight though. Kisnorbo 7 - See above N'Gotty 6 - Meant that our distribution was better, was a smart idea to put him there in a lot of ways, but his passing was very sloppy at times, was quite immobile and was caught out of position on occasions. Clemence 6 - Also quite sloppy in possession but tracked back and tackled well. Doesn't use the ball like a player of his supposed class should. Chambers 6 - Full of running and some decent attempted breaks, and a nice pass or two, but obviously doesn't use the ball like a good midfielder. Because he isn't one. Hume 7 - Nice free kick. Full of running but touch let him down at times. He's never a waste of a shirt which is good. Fryatt 6 - More influential in the first half, played quite deep tonight. Used the ball well when he had it but our style of play always means he ends up being a bit part in the game. Some good running and passing, no chances to get a shot on goal which is a shame. He's the best player on the ball in our team, fact. If he had a bit of pace like Keogh he'd be a very good player. John 6 - Dear oh dear. Credit where credit is due for finding himself in shooting position but his finishing was nowhere near good enough. A shame really. Didn't look as lazy as he can and lead the line fairly ably but his poor shooting will stand out. Subs had limited effect but made no mistakes. Ollie 7 - An unusual formation, I'd describe it as a 4-1-2-2-1, with N'Gotty in front of the backline, Chambers and Clemence in midfield, and Hume and Fryatt behind John. Still, it was an effective one. A sound away performance, if you're willing to overlook our obvious problems with creating goals. EDIT: I can't make up my mind with Stearman, I keep editing it from 6 to 7 and back again. I'll go with 6.5.
Calum McDermott Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop 7Stearman 8 McAuley 8 Kisnorbo 6 could have been tighter for their goal Mattock 6 N'Gotty 7 outpaced but he is getting on Chambers 6 Clemence 7 Hume 7 best free kick he has hit in a Leicester shirt Fryatt 7 John 6 Stearman had a virtually perfect game, Jarvis did not get the better of him once! Mattock OK performance but got beat to easily at times. McAuley and Kisnorbo solid performance. John was disappointing on the second chance, a premiership striker would be expected to score a 1 on 1. His first chance was a very difficult chance as the keeper came off his line quickly. fryatt's work rate was excellent, he is also looked quite strong on the ball.

shen Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop - 6 - had nothing to do all game. Dealt comfortably with the weak attempts from Wolves and caught one cross well. Could do little about the goal. Decent kicking too. Stearman - 7 - Worked hard and did very well when up against Jarvis. He got helped by Chambers or McAuley when it was needed. Looked ok on the ball. McAuley - 6,5 - Poor first half where his positioning and handling of players made me nervous. Often didn't clear the ball well enough throughout. Did ok second half. Kisnorbo - 7,5 - Solid. Did very well to keep Bothroyd at bay and cleared the ball on many occasions. Our best defender. Mattock - 5 - He's young and learning, but that doesn't mark him up. Was uncomfortable all game, even in the 1st half. It was only because Gibson was so poor we weren't punished. Much better offensively than defensively, but was hopelessly exposed all game (neither Hume nor Clemence covered). Use as a winger? J. Chambers - 7,5 - Was our main dynamo. Completely outshone N'Gotty and Clemence and was the most energetic, the most creative and the best defensively of that trio. Played a great through ball for John, that the latter should have buried. Helped Stearman out quite often. Showed good awareness which was only let down by a lack of technique. Why was he subbed? N'Gotty - 5 - Woeful. Was slow, passing was wayward, did little but congest the midfield and in that way restricting Wolves offensive play through the middle. Was done too easily by Keogh for Wolves' goal. Clemence - 5,5 - Marginally better than N'Gotty, but that's not saying much. Never had any authority in midfield, and didn't help Mattock out even though Wolves kept probing down the left in the second half. Can't say he was noticeable throughout. Hume - 7 - Great goal and full of running. One of the few in the team with ANY technique. Had a decent first half but disappeared in the second until the last 10 minutes where he was switched over to the right flank. Fryatt - 6 - Had a decent first half with some good runs and looked threatening. Unfortunately our team is so inept he has to come deep too often to create something, which means we only had John up front on his own most of the time. John - 5,5 - Everything we created that looked genuinely threatening went through him. He had the all (2 or 3) the good chances we managed to create, partly due to his own runs off the ball. He really should've buried one of them. Otherwise seemed well up for it 1st half and ran his socks off. Faded in the second and seemed tired towards the end. Subs: Hayes - X - (On for Fryatt) Only on for 10 minutes, but gave us some energy and a little more bite towards the end. Should've come on sooner. Kenton - X - (On for Chambers) Like Hayes only on for a short time. Did little of note.
Thracian Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop 6.75 (Usual competent self. Offered no sniffs of a mistake in the air and had no chance with the goal) Stearman 7.5 (Good game and joing MoM with Hume. Forever involved and worked so hard to stiffle attacks and to get forward in support. Probably prefers playing away with all the stick he gets at home) McAuley 6.75 (Steady and mostly reliable) Kisnorbo 6.5 (Excellent defending first half but had far more trouble when the ball was played around on the ground. Wrong side of his man when they scored the disallowed second) Mattock 5.75 (Struggled a bit once Keogh came on and Wolves started to attack through his department a bit. Coped gamely though and didn't let anyone down) N'Gotty 5.5 (Played a steady part first half but found wanting for their goal although he was left exposed) James Chambers 6.5 (Made a big difference to the speed and intensity of our covering) Clemence 6.25 (Better game without being outstanding) Hume 7.5 (Joint MoM for us. In a terrific vein of scoring form and goals are vital to us. Terrific free kick which must have bent two metres. Never stopped being a nuisance) Fryatt 5 (Part time centre-forward. I said to my son after his second mazy run, "that will be that" and it pretty well was. His dribbling is excellent at times but he just cannot maintain his impetus long enough) John 6 (Do you commend him for making such good opportunities for himself or condemn him for missing them? Strikers are paid to score and he had chances to settle the game for us but squandered them without any great pressure). Subs: Hayes 4.5 (Positive enough when he came on but of no great consequence) Kenton 5.5 (Looked as good and focused as before his injury).

johnnycash Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Fulop 7 - Usual solid performance Stearman 7 - Best game in a very long time. I think Chambers return helped. McAuley 7 - Solid Kisnorbo 7.75 - MoM. Won everything, and looked like someone who could play at a higher level (& sadly, probably will when the transfer window opens) Mattock 6.5 - Steady N Gotty 5 - Poor, apart from his ball through to Collins John. Not a midfileder, but should have done much better on their goal (when he was in a centre -back position!) Clemence 6 - Pretty anonymous, but stuck at it. Chambers 7 - Gve us energy & mobility even though he was out of position again. Deserves a lot more credit for his professional attitude. Won the free-kick that led to the goal, and played a great ball through to Collins John for what should have been the winner. Hume 6 - Great goal, but yet again his decsion making was poor. Got caught too often when he should have been releasing the ball. Never say die attitude though! Fryatt 5.5 - After a good start faded from the game John 5 - Looked as though he needed a game. Certainly not match sharp. The second chance should have been buried!! Subs not on long enough to judge.
Jonezy Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 My first ratings ever on FT.... Fulop 7 - Calm and collected, and had no chance when they scored. A quality keeper. Stearman 8 - MoM in my opinion. Worked hard all game, and lots of well timed tackles. Mattock 6 - Potential or not, he gets skinned a lot. 2 good crosses though. McAuley 6 - Decent game, but most of his clearances went straight back to a Wolves man. Kisnorbo 7 - A rock in defense, but why didn't he cover the only Wolves man in the box when they scored? N'Gotty 6 - When he passed to John for his first chance, I thought whauw this works. But sloppy passing ans a slow engine lets him down. Clemence 7 - Noticed in the 2nd half, that he actually quite often is the man with the last tackle or the clearance, but offers nothing going forward. Chambers 7 - Like his energy and speed. Shame he dont have Fabregas skills and vision as well. Hume 7 - Only getting 7 for his stunning goal. Fights, fights and fights, but not really effective. Fryatt 5 - Glimpses of quality in the first half including a stunning run from own half, but faded more and more out of the game. Hoof ball didn't help his course though. John 6 - 8 for getting in positions and 4 for missing them gives him a 6. A few more games and he could be a class act for us, but then he will be gone. Subs: Not enough time to comment on either Hayes or Kenton. Ollie 6 - Whats up with the hoof ball? Game plan nearly worked, but I think we were to defensive thoughout the game.
