But whatever it was I want some, thought he was the best he's been all season today!

Decision making still suspect and like John strays offside a bit too often, but other than that he did look good today, although I think everyone did.

He was good with the ball at his feet but his shooting etc. weren't good.

Didn't look like a striker however looked like he could have been a good midfielder

Exactly...thought his distribution at times was very good...but more importantly he looked fit alert and best of all actually interested...he could be a real asset!

I thought his distribution was virtually non-existant, sure he was good on the ball but there are/were times when he needed to be more aware of his team mates in better positions.

He may have played well but why Fryatt in particular for his own thread... Although i didnt go today it seems from peoples views that quite a few of the team played well

I some times think he's too clever for this team, he sees the gaps and plays the ball into them only for Hume or John to run the wrong way.

He doesn't do that often enough for me and maybe Hume and Johns are not expecting him to pass because it's quite a rarity for him to do so. I can understand him being 'greedy' in the penalty area but 30 yards or so from goal he needs to pass it more.

Without a doubt. Too often he looks to take it that bit further or take a shot that's not on.

His performance today reminded me of his performance against Bristol, He deserved a goal today.

Hopefully he progresses from his recent performances.

Completely disagree today. He was the best player on the pitch. Set up Hume but as is often the case Hume couldn't put away an easy chance. His movement was exceptional and if only he had a real footballer playing alongside him instead of John we could have won by 5. The best strikers come in pairs but unfortunately today we didn't have anyone on the same planet as Fryatt. Wish he cold play that well every week though!

agree with you on this although i think collins john needs a few games to get fully fit. He looked a bit lethargic to me today. I think with a striker who makes good runs fryatt will look even better. How some people can give hume a better match rating than fryatt on todays game is beyond me. One mistake really when he should have passed to clem at the end instead of hume.

Don't get too carried away on the strength of one half-decent display.

Charlton (with a certain P McCarthy in their ranks) visit on Saturday. I can't see Fryatt getting a kick..

Perhaps so, especially if Campbell is further along the road to recovery than previously thought.

I'm not convinced that Fryatt and Campbell could play in the same team.

Although he was brought to our club to be an out-and-out striker, I would dearly like to see Fryatt model his game on Teddy Sheringham.

Matty's not blessed with pace, but he has decent control and can play a decent pass through.

Honestly I thought he was pretty poor today. He made some good runs, and good positioning, but never threatened to score. Passing and Heading were really poor. Don't understand why people think he was so great. He only had so much space because they'd stuck 2 defenders on CJ.

Haha what? He had 3 men on him half the time and just kept knocking it past them!

This is why he should learn to pass it more, he starts off with one man on him and by the time he loses it he's got 3 or 4 chasing him. He could turn that to his advantage more often if he released the ball instead of losing it or having some tame shot into the legs of the defenders.

I think you're way off on this one to be honest Monk, mate.

Excellent performance today from Fryatt IMO. Consistency please.

Excellent ball work but what came of it? Very little in my view.

Ha at least I know I'm respected enough on here not to get hounded out. I can recognise what he did achieve today, but as a striker, he had, what, 2 shots on goal today? Neither were great. Yes OK, we scored 2 as a team, but neither him nor John nor Hume got even close to scoring today apart from that glaring miss from CJ.

Indeed, but he needs to work on his distribution and awareness. Too many moves broke down today because he gave the ball away.

But he kept beavering away and never let his head drop. Credit at least to him (and Holloway) for that.

I agree with Monk. Dont really see why he's getting such high marks/rave reviews.

Just thought it was a typical Fryatt game, good movement, decent link up, but no strength, little pace and not knowing when to play the right ball. This was highlighted in the last few minutes when he should of fed it to Clem on his left foot to smash into the net, but chose Hume, who did well to get a shot away in fact.

I also think he hangs onto the ball for too long and doesnt get his head up quick enough. If he had raw pace, he would be class, his control, and balance, such as when hes twisting and turning are second to none, but we forget hes still only a young 'un.
