Phube Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Newsy site... Interesting! But it was bloody stupid to have 2 formats anyway!!!
the_bowman Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Looks like Blu-Ray will win, put simply they're the better format, with the bigger capacity better quality video and audio can be stored. I think I read somewhere that some smart guy somewhere reckoned it would be decided before 2010, so this could be a big step
Smudge Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Not over here, it's far from being settled. Samsung are bringing out a dual format player that will play both but pricey I believe it will be about $800.

I'm wagering that by the time this nonsense war is over there'll be five new formats, all of which will be incredibly superior to the victor. And if any company thinks I'm going to replace all the DVD's (that replaced my videos) they've got another thing coming. Harumph.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 This has got 'Minidisc' written all over it.....
Phube Posted 11 January 2008 Author Posted 11 January 2008 Xbox goes Blu-ray I know this already!! M$, no faith in their backed product!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 I know this already!! M$, no faith in their backed product!! Yes, because it's not selling. It's good business sense. You aren't half simple at times.
danny. Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 if both do well, everyone will just make dual format players, like the old DVD+, DVD-, DVD-RAM wars, the burners and players just play them all now.
