stevie909 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 - Inherent belief that we are a 'big club'. - Over-demanding fans - Stadium we can't really seem to justify now - Sucessful manager who comes here, and is then unsucessful (so far)

Newcastle fans seem to believe that becuase they get gates of 50k plus they should be top 6.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Martin George always said we where going to be the next Newcastle
stevie909 Posted 6 January 2008 Author Posted 6 January 2008 But looking at them and then it, it looks like they are over-compensating
Suffolk_fox Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I think actually Newcastle are the next Leicester!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 You maybe correct (maybe!)...but I'd say Newcastle are a LOT bigger than we are or ever have been. A poor versions Newcastle!!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Newcastle always fill their stadium. But they don't have the Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea of Rugby Union a stones throw away!! Basically if the Tigers where not the massive club they are/didnt exist we'd get much bigger gates...
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 - Inherent belief that we are a 'big club'.- Over-demanding fans - Stadium we can't really seem to justify now - Sucessful manager who comes here, and is then unsucessful (so far) Best of luck to the bloke, and he's done okay at times, but would you really describe Ollie as "successful"? As for our fans, I think they've been pretty patient generally. Levein and Kelly both got a perfectly fair stint but no manager can continue to combine lousy and negative football with poor results for ever. And many fans felt that if we finished in the top half this season that would have been a step forward - despite Mandaric's so-far unjustified optimism. Is top half really too much to expect of a club like ours?
Geordie Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 How wrong of us to expect some players who can actually perform the basics consistently, I mean it's not as if the tickets are expensive either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not over demanding i just want to see some fight, good performances and some results. We would fill the stadium twice over if we could get promoted, when we do, and i think it will eventually happen even if it takes another 5 seasons, the stadium will be justified. Holloway hasn't really done anything, not managed in the Premiership, hardly a massive achieving manager. Megson is a much more sucessful manager than Holloway, and im sure if Milan knew that the one good thing we had under Megson was defence would collaspe when we got rid of him, and we still wouldn't score goals, he never would have let Megson go I also have this feeling if we lose easily to Cov and Saturday Milan will sack Ollie. I wouldn't sack him but hes been by far worser than any other manager we have had this season, 2 wins and 6 loses, 4 draws is just not good enough at all. And the fans including me will be seriously pissed off if we say lose 2-0 at home to Cov

I think it was a bit stupid not to have him sign a contact though! I don't think Milan will sack Ollie on Saturday - I think he realises that Ollie is looking long term, and will protect his investment. None of our other managers he sacked had any sort of track record in this league - at least Ollie has that.
stevie909 Posted 6 January 2008 Author Posted 6 January 2008 if ollie is sacked, ill have lost all faith in this club
shiv Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 i'd say we're more harchester united... although they didn't do too badly in the league just all the stuff that happens off the pitch
koop. Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 We are NOT the new-Newcastle at all. They are a much bigger club than us. They have a far superior squad to us. They are in the top flight, and wont go down. We are in the second tier, and wont go up. Their stadium is bigger and better. Their city is a lot nicer. Infact fook it, i'd have such a better weekend if i supported Newcastle.
Boycie Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 We arent the next Newcastle, just for the simple reason we have won a trophy this century!

Erm 2 promotions is it, and getting a nothing club like Plymouth up to 4th in the table this season, no not successful at all Same with Levein, he seemed to have wrestled the Scottish domination away from Rangers and into Hearts' favour, he did bugger all.
