Ian Holloway warned that his new-look Leicester City side still have plenty to learn despite the 2-0 win over Coventry City.

'We've still got lots of work to do,' he said.

'We need to go on and win our next eight games, so let's give it a go.

'I was pleased both my new strikers scored. That's the monkey off their backs right there.'

A Norwich

H Palace

A Blackpool

H Plymouth

A Watford

H Norwich

A Coventry

While a late run to 6th isn't impossible - just look at Cardiff and Palace, I get the feeling that its a little late for this season and that while its great to focus on building up a good run, we aren't in a position where making the playoffs is more than a 0.001% chance.

This shows that the ambition is there. Although if we are realistic, getting promoted is out of our reach for this season. I'd be happy for a mid-table finish now.

Some idiots last year were talking about promotion after we had just beat Coventry 3 - 0 :S

do you think we have lost ground on last year as we only won 2 v 0 this year?

Start of the season I said i'd be happy with improvement, Improvement to me was around 11th spot, give or take, I won't lie I had a play-off spot at the back of my mind but never seriously considered it.

So far we haven't seen improvement, but hopefully yesterday was the start of improvement.

Up the football league we go.

Lets look at Naaaarwich 1st though.

Win and we can get to the playoffs, lose and we certain to go down....

Come on mood swingning fellow supporters of Leicester City, lets get a little gap to the relegation zone before we think of anything else. I can't see us urge up the table to the play offs, unless we really are to win the last 19 games, which in all fairness to yesterdays game is as likely as Derby to win the prem.

We need yet again to stabilize the team, and strengthen again in the summer, and then maybe next season, we might finally get up to the top of the table where the fun is. Ollie seems to know what the squad's weak points are and will do his best to strengthen them, which Allen surely didn't, so there is hope....

i do agree that would be v hard but anything can happen. palace managed it, we just need to get the confidence up!

This season I've learnt that if you expect nothing then when it goes well it's bloody brilliant and when you lose it's not as bad. I have full confidence in Ollie and I think we can achieve things. I also realise that the distance between the playoffs and where we are now is by no means vast, but to get to the playoffs would mean we'd have to perform to a level which we haven't in half a decade. That is asking a lot. I'd happily take mid table and make the big push next season. Watching Man Utd yesterday it is evident that if we were somehow to go up that would would get absolutely murdered. Every week.

Its completely unrealistic. We wont get near the playoffs. Even if we did, i really wouldnt want us to get promoted this year. We would come straight back down, possibly with the worst ever record. Lets just call this a building season

How many points do you reckon we'll get in the next 8 i'll go for around 16

The smart money's on unlucky for some number 13

As an aside is there good money in bingo calling?

i guess ollies psychology is that if he talks a confident game the players will pick up on it. better for him to say playoffs and fail and end up mid table, than to say 21st place, fail, and get relegated...

as far as winning all our next 8 games, if we expect to be able to compete in the prem in the next 3 seasons, we have to expect to beat teams of that caliber week in week out.

realy all those games are winable apart from watford maybe according to there form at the time but we need consistancy hopefully thats wot the new boys are giving us especialy Laszko and Bori "on the volley". we just realy need a freescoring striker now which hopefully howards will be that man.

by the way has anyone realised Howard looks a little bit like Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stoneage?

He does actually I was thinking Ricky from the Kaiser Cheifs myself, but QOTSA is an even better look-a-like.

It's amazing what one win can do

There's no way we're getting promotion this season but we can definitely be looking to finish mid-table ish. Promotion talk is just crazy... ;)

I like the fact that all the chatter is now getting positive and that Ollie seems to be getting fans and players feeling better about the season.

A play-off spot, in my opinion, is not an impossibility if the attitude in the place is right.

Remember the difference between a poor side and a good side is the same as between a good side and a great side and that is usually just attitude!

Mind you, the playoffs, if achieved, would probably best be lost in a tight set of Home & Aways, which could be used as motivation in the following season :)

Couldn't have summed it up any better than that!

There's signs of improvement no doubt, but we just need to buckle down..it's 11 pts from play-offs and only 3 from relegation! Lets just keep rolling on picking up pts and seeing what else Ollie does in the transfer market! to make us better and probably alot more ready for the following season!

Ollie summed it up, there's still alot more work to be done!

the next 2 games against sides full of confidence after unbeaten runs will give a good steer on our prospects. Having said that its not easy to see why palace and norwich are suddenly putting these runs together as they are still full of shite has-beens like scowcroft and dublin
