I've had enough of the pigs

The police came round to take a statement at 11:30pm on a wednesday night (considering it happened at 5pm-ish) and they didn't leave to well into the early hours, i'd guess around 2am, constantly asking me the same things.

This is a highly unusual story.

11.30pm-2am . 2 1/2 hours? Not bad They most likely repeated some questions to be sure they had the facts right. I would rather they did this than knock on the door rush through a couple of questions then bugger off to get back to the station canteen. They will keep asking questions until they get the right answers. They will ask questions like 'is there anything else you remember, however insignificant it may seem?' more than once because the victim may remember something else.

The call out time does not seem that bad. When reported it may have been near the end of a shift so the details would have to be passed from PC to PC. They do have homes to go to too

I'm only guessing this as I don't want to be hasty and call them incompantant pigs.

..... i've stopped phoning the police about anything less than a fooking genocide now as you end up spending 5 hours giving them a statement

Hence the reason why reported crime is falling in the UK. Not actual crime mind. :dunno:

Too much red tape and shit.

Long gone are the days when coppers were just coppers.

i blame the Americans and claims direct :)

I blame the police. I've had dealings with them before as a victim and as has already been said, they're ****ing useless.

I've already been through police complains in the past. They didn't come across apologetic but as if it was within their right to make a mistake or two every so often. Balls to that.

In 2003, the only time I've ever needed the police, a burglar entered my mum's house and luckily me & my brother was there for the night. To cut a long story short, the burglar ended up with a broken nose, a broken jaw and bad black eye. And they treated him as the ****ing victim.

Watched a program about gthe motorway cops and all I say is rather them than me. The ones in that program had to deal with a load of shit coming from the public and they are not allowed to retaliate.

A Romanian couple were stopped in their car with two young children. They had no seatbelts or child seats in the car. The bloke spoke little English so they phoned up for an online interprter to explain. Because it was a woman the bloke regarded her as not worth listen to. It was obvious the female PC was annoyed as she got the same reaction but she could not show it.

An 18 year old teenager was giving a lot of backchat and had a total disregard for the job the police were doing and tbh taking the piss. A driver moved traffic cones on a section of motorway that had been closed because of floods and drove the wrong way down the motorway. A couple of lads to drive out to take a look at the floods and got stuck blocking the police car on their way to a farmhouse they were attending to rescue an elderly couple.

Beside the odd error of judgement there are a lot of good things the police deserve credit for. Instead ofslagging them off we should help them improve the service they give. And they won't know what needs improving unless they know about the bad things.

That is why I said write a letter giving details of the events and why you were unhappy with the service received.

The police do have a difficult job on their hands, fair enough. But there are a lot of rotten apples within their force. They stereotype a LOT and that hasn't really done me any favors unfortunately. Having said that, I've never really gotten into trouble with the police, apart from maybe the odd football match where imo their heavy presence itself is half the problem, but that's another story.

Given the number of cases that the CPS cannot take to court, I'm not surprised that some police officers are thorough when taking statements.

Considering there are strict guidlines laid down as to when statements can be taken I am surprised that they were there at two in the morning.

Police can be frustrating, but we would be in the shit without them.

It can be hard to justify that though if you have had a bad experience with them.

I was done a couple of years ago for a silly thing and ended up getting a caution, but through all that I thought the police could have been out solving a crime that was more worthwhile than sitting in my lounge questioning me FFS?

Then again I am greatful when im out on a sat night and the police are about because you really do get some twats after a few

Unfortunately, being a policeman these days is all about reaching targets etc etc.
