Raj Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 What if though, you have a 35 year old man, who wants to sing all game long, but can't go in the "kop" because he has his 13 year old son with him?You can't please everyone. Drop the kid of in the Kop. Bloke fcuks off to L1. Pick him up after the game just outside teh Megastore. SORTED!

I think that the under 8's rule anywhere is daft. I agree that you can't please everyone, but I do think having a designated area where there are no Under 8's (Or just under 8's free in family stand) then that would work better.

The worst thing is when you're at the football, and someone swears, then you get someone saying something along the lines of: Can you not swear please? Really annoying. I'm not at church now you miserable twat.
McFoxy Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 But the sun A few years ago i went to the San Siro watch Inter Vs Sampdoria. The sun was in my eyes the whole time, the atmosphere was fantastic and it was one of the best football experiences I've had (aprt from the Carling Cup at Wembley). Now my Italian isn't so hot but i don't think i heard any complaints about the sun Pierluigi Collina even refferee'd it for an added bonus. Buy some
Alexikokopops Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 You're right in that there were no concessions, but kids were allowed in; you had to pay full price to take them in there.I don't see a problem with kids per se, it's the parents that I find are the problem. True story, I used to go there when I went with my parents. My dad used to laugh at me doing the whole "You're shit, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" malarky.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Nah I disagree. The Kop was actually pretty decent on Saturday compared to how it usually is. If we can get some results going and actually give the fans something to sing about it'll become much better I reckon. I honestly thought The Kop was pretty poor on Saturday, I didnt hear them at all through the game except for the last 5 minutes when we went 2-0 up. I stood in K1 and the atmosphere around there is alot better because you had L1, K1 and J3 all standing throughout and singing throughout.

But that's the thing, in the Kop we didn't really hear L1, K1 and J3.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Ah right, well if this is happening in both areas then for the best atmosphere family stand should be switched with The Kop and then everyone will be happy.
scrivins2 Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 But then what of L1? They wouldn't be able to taunt those away fans they wouldn't L1 would become the first section of the kop like at Filbo SK1
Uncle Albert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 But then what of L1? They wouldn't be able to taunt those away fans they wouldn't L1 would become the first section of the kop like at Filbo SK1 They would still be able to taunt the fans because you keep the away fans where they are and then you have The Kop and L1 either side of the away fans.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 The Kop is a poor mans L1 It was on saturday from what i could tell.
Bert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I used to sit in the kop - could never hear L1, now i sit in L1 can never hear the kop. I find strange, because at times, you think they are really loud. Ollie can hear us in L1, so that means the players must be able to.
Mikey Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I used to sit in the kop - could never hear L1, now i sit in L1 can never hear the kop.I find strange, because at times, you think they are really loud. Ollie can hear us in L1, so that means the players must be able to. Ollie can hear the Kop as well. When we sing Ollie give us a wave. and theres about 20 people singing it (it seems) he still waves. So he must hear us, unless he's just pshycic?
Uncle Albert Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 As long as the players and Ollie can hear L1 and The Kop everything is fine. I do wish that L1 could hear The Kop and vice versa so when one section get's a song going the other section can join in.
Joe. Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 It's pointless arguing who's the best, L1 or The Kop. L1 can't hear the Kop. The Kop can't hear L1. It's just the acoustics of the ground that makes it so, doesn't mean either part is poor.
Ultra Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I was in the North Stand on Saturday. The noise from the Kop came over loud and clear. L1, on the other hand, was often outsung by the away support. And unless the numbers suddenly increase massively for whatever reason, that isn't likely to change.

maddog Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Only solution is to move back to Filbert St and build the old ground again.SORTED! I miss Filbert St so much Hate the Walkers, wish we had never moved now
Sods Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Ollie can hear us in L1, so that means the players must be able to. That was quite funny in the game on saturday. The kop sang ollie give us a wave. He waved. Then straight after L1 sung it and he waved. To be fair i used to stand in L1 and i could never hear the kop. And i enjoyed the banter. But then it started getting weakish, plus supporting the new singing section, i moved to N1. Which i thought was better then L1 minus the Wolves game. Then i thought fook going L1 again so i moved to F1. And its not electric but is a lot louder then both sections, which is expected. And i enjoy it there.
Ultra Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 The move was essential for us to expand our fanbase. A successful team will pull in crowds of 30000+, something that simply wasn't possible at Filbo. If only we could have moved when MON was here...
Rich Fox Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 The Kop should blatantly be moved where the family stand is and no concessions allowed in the Kop, its obvious it blatantly needs to happen to get a better atmosphere! And whats this about 'oh we can't sit over there cos we will get the sun in our eyes' B*llocks, which idiot came up with that one! Not only is it a really girly thing to say (and I think I even offend girls when I say that), but football is played mainly in the winter!!! How many sunny days realy do you get down the Walkers a season?? Not many!!! Something definately needs to be done or looked at again by the club! Cant understand why its girly not to want to sit with the sun in your eyes. let the away fans put up with this. However we ned to put our kop next to the away fans so we should have out kop in the east stand next to the away fans then we would have a great atmosphere because they would probably stil sing behind the goal in the south stand as well where the kop used to be.
