Churchill Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Don't think he will be coming back to leicester now we got Ben Alnwick but who knows....But has anyone seen him linked with any other club?
WetFlannel Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I dont think we should bother making an offer is Roy Keane is going to be a c**t about it, as Alnwick seems pretty decent. Would be gutted if someone like QPR got him though...
Jack Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I think we still could be in with a chance with getting him. Keano is being a cnut with the price thinking other clubs were gonna offer it him and now that he is wrong he will drop the price and maybe will get him.
Bryn Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I still think the chance of Sunderland realising they will never get £3m, coming back to us and saying "Go on then £1.5m and he's yours" are quite high, but with Alnwick here the pressure is off us completely.

Ashley Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I think we would be able to get him. Fulop liked his time at Leicester and wanted to stay, I think Keano will sell Fulop near the end of this transfer window lets just hope we could get him. I think Alnwick is good enough cover for him tho and has hinted about a longer stay at Leicester.
Mark Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I'd put money on him starting Sunderlands next match after Gordons latest blunder yesterday
Churchill Posted 20 January 2008 Author Posted 20 January 2008 I'd put money on him starting Sunderlands next match after Gordons latest blunder yesterday I would love to see how Fulop plays on MOTD if he did start for Sunderland next week
Kilworthfox Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Don't think he will be coming back to leicester now we got Ben Alnwick but who knows....But has anyone seen him linked with any other club? RK has fooked up big time with this one. He tried to flush out more bidders but there is only 1 and that's us and we won't pay 3mil. End of. So what RK will have to do is either realise he paid too much money for Gordon and swallow his pride and play Fulop. Or accept a lesser bid than 3mil from us, although we are not in as desperate need for him as we were. Otherwise MF will stay on their bench or worse out of the squad.
Geo V Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I'd put money on him starting Sunderlands next match after Gordons latest blunder yesterday I agree. The mistake he made for Keane's 100th goal was yet another Gordon error. He hasn't impressed like many thought he would since coming down to England and Fulop must be close to a starting berth.
Ultra Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Unless Keane signs another keeper, I can't see him letting Fulop go before the end of the season.
Guest Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 Unless Keane signs another keeper, I can't see him letting Fulop go before the end of the season. I suppose at least if he lets him go at the end of the season we may be able to pick him up for a reasonable price
dandannieldanok Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Keane can keep him, we've taken our business elsewhere.
MikeyT Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 People, the Fulop deal is dead, buried and had a funeral service for. I would love to see him back here as well. But its over with now....move on!
Mickey O'Neil Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I want Sunderland to stay up. I'm hoping Ollie is waiting 'til the end of the season and may try and resurrect the deal if they stay up. They won't keep Gordon if they come down. Coventry shitty all over again!
The Stig Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Fulop will not play for Leicester again this season. Fact.
Shrenchel Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 I agree. The mistake he made for Keane's 100th goal was yet another Gordon error. He hasn't impressed like many thought he would since coming down to England and Fulop must be close to a starting berth. Maybe so but I hear he had a very good game overall. There's no way Keane is gunna drop Gordon but there's equally a small chance of Fulop coming back to us. Well, before the summer at least.
gosfox Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 Fulops gone......lets support the kid who's in there now and stop harking on about what might have been

shiv Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 how long is alnwick on loan until? i reckon we could get fulop at the end of the season maybe...
Jimmy Posted 21 January 2008 Posted 21 January 2008 how long is alnwick on loan until?i reckon we could get fulop at the end of the season maybe... rest of the season
Mr Happy Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 While we've got Alnwick I reckon we'll be alright but when the transfer market re-opens in the summer hopefully by that time Keane would of had a chance to rethink his estimate of Fulop thus realising that no other club has made an offer on him for a reason, £3mil is too steep of a price for Fulop. Thats when we should bid for him again IMO probly get him for £1.5mil then maybe, I know its highly doubtful but IMO he has been the best keeper at city in a long time, bar Walker, and it would be foolish if we didnt sign Alnwick in the summer to not pursue in signing Fulop again.

Thats the problem with getting players on loan without actually agreeing a transfer fee at the end of it. Fulop would not have cost more than £750k, maybe a Million at the most had we agreed a deal in principle prior to him playing for our club. He starred for us and now they want £3m. The same will happen with Alnwick if he performs well.

For example would we be happy if Odihambo was loaned out with a "sell for £250,000 clause at the end of the season" and then he goes and proves himself to be worth much more than that, but we had to sell because of the clause we had signed??? Somehow I dont think so
