So i thought: if the youth had had the death penalty then the second person wouldn't be dead right now. So should we bring back the death penalty. I say Your thoughts/opinions please.

As is the need to pay for one's healthcare and education, but thats another debate entirely. People will argue that murder, rape, paedophilia etc are uncivilised also. They would be correct. But that shouldn't mean that the state should be able to get away with matching such barbarism.

If the criminal justice system in this country weren't in such a dire state I doubt people would bring up the death penalty debate. Why not start by looking at cases of death row prisoners who turned out to be innocent? I'm not claiming "pedos and murderers" don't see the light of day from the moment they're judged, but this persistent idea that they just waltz out of prisons because Monsieurs Blair and Brown aren't 'hard' enough is just tabloid, sensationalist drivel.
