I made this thread because of the murder of that handicapped guy a few days ago.

It said the one youth had already commited murder.

So i thought: if the youth had had the death penalty then the second person wouldn't be dead right now.

So should we bring back the death penalty.

I say :yesyes:

Your thoughts/opinions please.

The death penalty is illegal under EU law.

Do you have a link to the story?

If the one youth had already committed murder, why was he not in prison? Or was it alleged that he had committed another murder?

No. The death penalty is a sure sign of an uncivilised country in my opinion. As is the need to pay for one's healthcare and education, but thats another debate entirely. People will argue that murder, rape, paedophilia etc are uncivilised also. They would be correct. But that shouldn't mean that the state should be able to get away with matching such barbarism.

If the criminal justice system in this country weren't in such a dire state I doubt people would bring up the death penalty debate. You have pedos and murders out on the streets quicker than you can have a wank.

This thread is a joke. Lets kill someone for murdering someone... Erm... How does that work out?

Then we would have to kill the executioner..then the executioners executioner and so on.

It just don't work.

I love how misinformed tabloid readers keep whipping out statements like that without statistical support.

So what is the case then? It doesn't happen you say?

Every justice system on the planet makes mistakes. Why not start by looking at cases of death row prisoners who turned out to be innocent?

I'm not claiming "pedos and murderers" don't see the light of day from the moment they're judged, but this persistent idea that they just waltz out of prisons because Monsieurs Blair and Brown aren't 'hard' enough is just tabloid, sensationalist drivel.

Unfortunately there are many cases of death row prisoners turned out ot be innocent. I'm in no way advocating to get the death penalty back. Don't get me wrong on that, sir.

Every justice system has its flaws but you hear more often than not that pedos and rapist are back on the streets as quick as you can imagine. Doing a lot less years that they were supposed to.

I think if someone commits "murder" they should stay in prison, for the rest of their lives without parole.

That's because no one's going to buy a paper with the headline "MURDERER STAYS IN PRISON AND SERVES TIME" ;)

But that's my point, you hear that WHERE? The Sun? The Daily Mail? The Mirror?
