Manwell Pablo Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Yep he's always right......remember that Sorry but I am this time.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Yes but if the English talent is good enough Wenger has shown he knows how to develop you into a quality player. Fabregas, Cole, Toure e.t.c all coming through the youth system. As is half of their first team squad! Not always true tho, couple of exceptions to the rule... Richard Wright Francis Jeffers
Tommy G Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Sorry but I am this time. It was kind of tongue in cheek
andyh1884 Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Not always true tho, couple of exceptions to the rule...Richard Wright Francis Jeffers Yes, but you cannot polish a turd
Tommy G Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Yes, but you cannot polish a turd What a phrase. Thats got my vote for post of the day
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Not always true tho, couple of exceptions to the rule...Richard Wright Francis Jeffers Yeah, as the poster said "if they're good enough". These two have proven that they aren't, weren't and never will be. The fact that Fabregas joined Arsenal from Barcelona shows the high esteem in which Wenger and his team are held for developing youth team players into world class talents. How many other clubs could poach youngsters from Barcelona?
lookwhaticando Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 but Sven-Goran Eriksson is still hopeful of luring the player to Manchester City. (0810 GMT - The Times) Easy peasy. To lure him here, just remind young Theo that this was the man who dragged him all the way to Germany to piss around doing nothing when he could be have been elsewhere relaxing properly on a beach with his bird.
TrickyTrev Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 They were actually swiped at a young age (15,16) but yes I agreed if the talents there Wenger will get it out of them. Just like this guy is being swooped at a young age. Fabregas joined when he was 16. Toure was at that dodgy feeder club in Belguim from his mid teens too I believe.
Joe. Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 As a 15 year old lad, who wouldn't want to join Arsenal's youth academy? They've got an absolutely brilliant record of seeing youngsters through, and even if they don't make it at Arsenal, most make it somewhere else instead (Bentley, Upson, Pennant, Larsson, Muamba, Sidwell etc). He may be young but it's a great move for him, he can only improve in an academy such as Arsenal's. As for Walcott, we've got no chance I'm afraid. From an Arsenal point of view it'd be good for him to go out on loan somwhere, even if it is a lower Premiership team or CHampionship club. He's not good enough to hold down a place in the Premiership for Arsenal yet.
Geo V Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 I`d be shocked if they sent him out on loan for a number of reasons, including the fact that they are still in three competitions and he has started 13 games for the Gooners and come off the bench a further ten times this season. If they do let him go, whats the point of him taking a backward step in the Championship? As for Stoke, why would they say they are bidding when they also say they know it will be turned down ???!!
lildave3 Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Man City would be a good move for him I think. A manager he already knows, possibly some regular action and lots of young English players around him.
PAULCFC Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 If Liverpool took him,He'd not play another premiership game this season, simarilly(sp) for man city.So not so different with staying with ArsenalI think it'd be good for him to get a loan to a mid table/trying to get into mid table championship club to keep his legs in at propper games!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 I would have thought he would be loaned out to another Premier League Club?Obviously a lower team, in the lower half of the table. Couldnt see him coming to the Championship...but who knows! I can see him actually turning out for someone like Fulham 'til end of the season
Simi Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 I did wonder how long it would take for this thread to appear.
LCFC2007 Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 No way would Theo Walcott come on loan to the championship. Anyway Arsenal have rejected a bid from Liverpool to take Walcott on loan so I doubt he will come to a championship side.
sidwell Posted 27 January 2008 Posted 27 January 2008 No way would Theo Walcott come on loan to the championship.Anyway Arsenal have rejected a bid from Liverpool to take Walcott on loan so I doubt he will come to a championship side. Well at a championship side he would get more games At liverpool he'd probably be playing a few minutes more than he does at Arsenal Still i think he will go a lower premiership side rather than the championship In the championship though he wouldn't be playin against top class defenders like in the prem, so if he joined a lower prem team he would be gettin played and would be playing against the same class players as he would if he was playing for Arsenal Good luck to the lad
