Thracian Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Well if Shush! is as good as you make out, there is nothing stopping him going on to greatness now is there. OR will he slowly drift into oblivion with all the other overly hyped crap. There you go again. I've NEVER said Shush!'s the greatest defensive left-back. But nor is Mattock as yet and I don't know about Clapham. What I said was that Shush! could create chances which, to me, is plainly obvious and it has also been clear we needed to create chances. I mentioned Beswick for the same reason - his ability to create chances. If you or fans generally think Laczko will create more than Beswick (Shush! being no longer an option) then fine. Time will tell and so long as someone does it I don't mind who. But someone wasn't doing it over the last five games and while I sincerely hope yesterday was a turning point, it wouldn't be the first time my hopes have subsequently been dashed and yesterday was probably no more definitive than any other game. As for your flippant comment about Shush! it sounds as if you'd like him to fail just to supposedly one over on me. I'm actually sure he faces as many problems now as ever in cementing a career in professional football, never mind "greatness". I imagine Shush! will take time to acclimatise at Leeds just as the Hungarians here but, in the end, his future will be down to opportunities and performances plus the attitude of mind necessary to rectify weaknesses. I wish him luck but certainly won't be giving the matter more than passing attention. .
Jimmy Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 and yet you STILL haven't answered my question Tharc
Mark Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Why are we talking about Alan Shee-han, AGAIN, when we've just won 4-0 against a team unbeaten in 13? Get a GRIP. PS. Shee-han didn't play in the academy's win again, which is what this topic is for.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Anyone know who Watson is? I can't see his name on the list of under 16s that are being kept on next season in yesterday's programme.
Koke Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Anyone know who Watson is? I can't see his name on the list of under 16s that are being kept on next season in yesterday's programme. I think he's an American lad who came over here some time ago. However, I stand to be corrected.
Joe. Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Marcus Watson? I think that's who Karim's on about.
Father Ted Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I think he's an American lad who came over here some time ago. However, I stand to be corrected. Oh yeah, we were talking about him in the summer and the americans think of him as the next Freddy Adu or something along those lines
Jonbluefox9 Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Nice one, cheers. I remember him being talked about a while ago but haven't seen his name in the under 18s before.
Thracian Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Thrac it's a very simple question, who was the last person we released from our academy who went on to become a star in the Championship or above, Like Man Utd. did with Savage for exampleand the relevance is you constant bleating that our academy is so fantastic that the whole 1st team should be academy grads because the only Ex-academy player that became a star I can remember in recent times is Emile Heskey, whom we sold for £11M Still can't understand your point. Are you saying that, because we've produced little from the Academy before its unlikely we'll produce anything in future? I've no idea how that figures.
Bert Posted 17 February 2008 Author Posted 17 February 2008 Nice one, cheers. I remember him being talked about a while ago but haven't seen his name in the under 18s before. Yeah, he's a right dick though.
Ric Flair Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Yeah, he's a right dick though. Is he any good? If he's the next Freddy Adu, like someone mentioned (likely to be taking the piss) he wouldn't be here really, especially as that's his first start for the Academy from what I gather and he's not played for the ressies yet.
