The Reverend Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Only problem with a link with the aussie A-League teams is they are no longer keen to see our top young talent head off overseas Well if they are any good, they certainly wouldnt want to stay in Australia.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 My first Leicester game was East Benegal in the pepsi max challenge Thats is Reading in the cup doesnt count as it was my first competitive game.
Finnegan Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I'm thinking NEWI Cefn Druids FC, or the Connah's Quay Nomads.
TrickyTrev Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 The Irish one (Cork City) gave us Damian Delaney, he doesn't appear to be THAT bad now.As for the Indian one - was that the victim of administration? Or are we still linked? I think Kevin Doyle was from Cork City, we would have had him if the link hadn't been severed by the administrators. I think they are a good idea to be honest, but we have missed out on a few players from the East Midlands perhaps we should concentrate on making sure that doesn't happen first and foremost.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Only problem with a link with the aussie A-League teams is they are no longer keen to see our top young talent head off overseas True but if they are that good they will leave anyway least this way we may get a few LCFC youngster playing in the A-league and work it that way. I would love to see Shush! playing for Victory (would be better than Kemp)
AmericanScott Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 How about the New York Red Bulls of the MLS? We could use Jozy Altidore in our team. The kid is the next (and much better) Brian McBride. I mean, he's on the FIFA 08 cover in North America and he's only 18!
Thracian Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 My oldest lad and two football mad grandsons will be involved in some beach football in Grenada when their holiday home's finished come December - perhaps they could organise a Leicester City link-up.
beemeroo Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 My oldest lad and two football mad grandsons will be involved in some beach football in Grenada when their holiday home's finished come December - perhaps they could organise a Leicester City link-up. Now you're thinking on our level!
General Smuts Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Pepsi Max Tournament I got on John Barnes' TV programme thanks to that bad boy. I also sat next to Henry The Horn aswell. The memories ...
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Wasn't it Kingfisher West (or maybe East) Bengal?
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Ah, it was East - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/3458415.stm They were the Indian champions too!
Calum McDermott Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 Ah, it was East - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/3458415.stmThey were the Indian champions too! How do you find things on BCC so long ago?
Jimmy Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 we should probably try an link up with a French club, the kids they produce always seem to be technically gifted
Thracian Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 we should probably try an link up with a French club, the kids they produce always seem to be technically gifted Might be worth waiting to see if the French connection we've got ever gets a sustained opportunity first.
Jimmy Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Might be worth waiting to see if the French connection we've got ever gets a sustained opportunity first. he's Ivorian and we got him free not from another club
The People's Hero Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 he's Ivorian and we got him free not from another club He's made of ivory? Must have been a big elephant. Is he legal?
Thracian Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 he's Ivorian and we got him free not from another club He's Afro/French if I remember correctly and his close family is based in France.
The People's Hero Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 I love his afro. I don't see what his hairstyle has to do with it?
syston_fox Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 I don't see what his hairstyle has to do with it? Quite a lot of he's made from Ivory!
AmericanScott Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Speaking of Elephants, why does Cov have one in their club logo? Are their women that big?
TrickyTrev Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 He's Afro/French if I remember correctly and his close family is based in France. He's Ivorian. Close family based in France.
Calum McDermott Posted 21 February 2008 Author Posted 21 February 2008 He's Ivorian. Close family based in France. Maybe, due to the fact ivory coast is a french colony. Hence, cote d'ivoire.
