DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Will be good we got the grounds and we will build more but it will be in the middle of winter. Hopefully we get it Australian winter > English summer. That is all.
DB11 Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Australian winter > English summer. That is all. Arctic Winter > English Summer at times tbh
Matt Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Will be good we got the grounds and we will build more but it will be in the middle of winter. Hopefully we get it If you get the same Australian builders/company that built Wembley you might just have them built in time if you start now.
Samilktray Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Watching the games would be horrendously timed.
Bryn Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Middle of winter + having to get up at the crack of dawn to watch games = no thanks.
Matt Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Middle of winter + having to get up at the crack of dawn to watch games = no thanks. Yeah but it'd be their winter (The way i'm reading it) which is our summer. Their "winter" I wish we could call there temperatures winter, Their winter's tend to be like our summers. Bastards!
Sparky Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Im desperate for England to win the 2018 tournament to be honest , ill be 37 the time that comes round and if we dont win the right to host it ill probably be double that age ! If we do lose it then i wont complain if its to Australia , they will have the Stadia , they have proved with the Olympics and Commenwelth Games they can host a big event and football is growing big time in Aus with the entertaining A league . From a selfish Englishmans point of veiw the kick off times would be my only worry
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 If you get the same Australian builders/company that built Wembley you might just have them built in time if you start now. To be fair, project blowouts are an Australian trait

ASH17LCFC Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 USA 94 all over again, no thanks. Should be played in Europe or south america not countries who don't hardly care about football. Australia aren't even big on football. We should get it more then anyone.

Australia is big on Australia I think you underestimate how much people are into sport in general over here For a nation that isn't "even big" on football, pubs and public areas were packed out at 3am during the last World Cup

purpleronnie Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 On one hand I dont want england to win - reason being I would hate to watch 90,000 jester hat wearing, face painted 'new' england fans all singing 'its coming home its coming home' - and then see the paint wash off in tears as we fail in the 1/4 finals. On the other hand - England wont have to qualify, I would be able to hopefully go and watch italy or brazil. I also have mixed feelings about the aussies getting it, the world cup did wonders for USA soccer and with the game growing in Australia this would be a massive boost for them, but the time difference would be a sod.
