Floating Fox Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 I'm pretty sure many of those few that travelled to Cardiff really enjoyed themselves. I just wanted to point out the away end facilities and the terrace at Cardiff. This is the only away end in the league that offers supporters seating & standing options in the same stand - The common sense option. No-one had problems of people standing infront of them. No-one had problems of wanting to stand, but not being aloud to. (Well you'd hope so! ) You chose where you stood, allowing you to be with mates/family. The atmosphere was a hell of a lot better. It was safe. I think that many of you will agree when I say that more grounds should have this same arangement. This simple solution of having seating AND standing makes games much more fun so can I ask all of the people who enjoyed themsleves on saturday to back the campaign at StandUpSitDown, to sign the petition on there & to lobby (Send an email/letter) your MP about safe standing area. You know it makes sense (Sorry but I couldn't think of a more obvious plug)
clazkel Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 I know this is for people who were at Cardiff and i wasn't but i went Watford and i was getting really annoyed as people in front of me were standing and that didn't bother me i just stood up, but the people behind were shouting for them to sit down and were getting annoyed that they weren't sitting down (at first but did in the end). Its ruining peoples enjoyment as some people want to stand up and some don't so to make everyone happy and to improve the atmosphere the idea of Cardiff's arrangements sounds like it suits everyone.

I rested my eyes due to the huge level of excitement I had experienced during the day and British Rail failed to make frequent loud announcements. Damn right it was their fault. Not only that but they had one of those carriages with the big dead comfy 1st class chairs on. Bloody comfy. I like trains (except on Sundays).

Hope it helps as the atmosphere used to be soo much better when there was standing at Filbert Street. I don't think it is just the Walkers to blame for the poor atmosphere at times, i think if there was standing areas the atmosphere would improve.

SystonFox Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 didnt go this yr but i went last season when we lost 3-2. good stadium and it always seemed very safe and never had any trouble inside. i stood right on the edge of our fans nearest the cardiff fans on that terrace, some good banter flowing but it died down our side when we went 2-0 down. from what i saw on tv it seems we have taken more fans this time as it seemed a bit emptier last year and looked almost full this season???

They're the majority and the terrace is pretty big so there no problem really....

syston_fox Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 See im not sure how safe it was standing up at cardiff - some young hoodlum tried to kill me when we scored! (naming no names eh Ched?) Seriously though it was a great atmosphere and really enjoyed it from the moment we entered the turnstiles till the moment we left. Was good to stand where we liked and because of the seating area no one moaned in the slightest. Also - after the rather "friendly" search at the turnstiles, I didnt even notice any stewards which is how it should be. There were plenty around but they left us all too have our fun! (One of them was also actually quite helpful and went out to get us a programme because we couldnt get one inside). Shame Cardiff are moving stadiums really
