Father Ted Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Also, the Kop was actually enjoyable in the second half. People standing, actualyl getting behind the team and generally positive. Where abouts do you sit LD3? Now, i'd like to say what I thought of the game today Hendrie and Etuhu were excellent. Hendrie did more in one game than Clemence has all season. I think Clemence will struggle to get his captaincy and position back. Clapham is god for his composure and calmness but why does he always back away. Where was Kisnorbo? Oakley had an excellent game - Very commanding - played for the armband. Holloway is the stuff underneath shit - tactically Hume had another shocker TBH that's down to him playing right-wing - Holloway tactically again. Howard is a donkey! Ref missed some crucial decisions - but oh well Campbell was very good today, chased everything. How did we not score!

I Agree with the lot & where was Kisnorbo ??

Tilley Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 injured What sort of injury, serious or minor?? McAuley & N'Gotty did a solid enough job. Fair play to N'Gotty to playing three games in a week at his age
davieG Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 That's how we'll beat drop - Ollie Manager Ian Holloway is adamant that more displays like the one which earned a goalless draw against Bristol City will ensure Leicester City beat the drop. Leicester boss Ian Holloway saw his side produce possibly their best performance of the season in the goalless draw with Bristol City and insisted the Foxes will beat the drop. The Foxes belied their lowly position against the leaders at the Walkers Stadium and Holloway is adamant more displays like this will ensure his side beat the drop. Visiting keeper Adriano Basso's goal led a charmed life at times as a combination of poor finishing from the hosts, some desperate defending and moments of brilliance from Basso kept Holloway's side at bay. "How we have just played was unbelievable,'' said Holloway. "We took the game to Bristol City and we took the initiative right from the first whistle. "If that was the first game of the season, I think our fans would have gone home absolutely delighted but, because of where we are in the league, it makes it very difficult. "We have had 24 efforts at their goal and they have had just six at ours, but it is indicative of the luck that two sides at contrasting ends of the table have. "If one had gone in, we could have got two or three goals. But, if we continue to play like that, I am sure we will be okay.'' Holloway believes the pitch contributed to his side's inability to put the ball in the net. He added: "I believe that playing surface is not conducive to a nice crisp finish. "The amount of times the ball has bobbled just as it looked like one of our strikers would put the ball in the net was unbelievable. "Iain Hume had a chance. I put my house, its contents, my entire wardrobe, my under garments, my socks and my shoes on the fact that he would score, and how he didn't I have no idea.''
Guest Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Am I alone in thinking that this game was as crap as the result?
Daggers Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Am I alone in thinking that this game was as crap as the result? You, me, the bloke on the end of the row and Melton Fox.
termite111 Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 it really pisses me off when you get these arseholes who call in and start moaning about the players and tactics WHEN THEY HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN TO THE GAME " I LISTENED TO IT ON THE RADIO " BOLLOCKS i'm sorry but you don't deserve an opinion on the game. i listen to radio leicester whilst i'm at the game watching it and half the time they don't even commentate on the game correctly getting players names wrong and even what has actually happened. AND WHOEVER IT WAS THAT SAID IT WAS RUBBISH BEHIND HOLLOWAY PISS OFF AND NEVER GO TO A GAME AGAIN. i love it when holloway speaks his mind and everything he said after the game today was correct. that was one of the best performances i have ever seen from a championship side and the most one sided game in any league in england. they were very lucky we didn't win 4 or 5-0 and that is still an understatement.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Am I alone in thinking that this game was as crap as the result? I enjoyed it. 24 shots (? - that's what Holloway said, probably a bit less knowing him) and we outplayed the league leaders who still managed to hit the woodwork twice with incredibly close shots. Best 0-0 I have seen for ages.
Guest Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 You, me, the bloke on the end of the row and Melton Fox. He doesn't know anything. I enjoyed it. 24 shots (? - that's what Holloway said, probably a bit less knowing him) and we outplayed the league leaders who still managed to hit the woodwork twice with incredibly close shots.Best 0-0 I have seen for ages. I found it painful to watch, frustrating does no justice.

I took no solace in watching a team being painfully unable to score, even when presented with gilt-edged opportunities. Maybe it looked different from up there - but down the bottom it looked grim and foreboding. If we don't start scoring then there's only one outcome to this season.

Tilley Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I believe the third one in on the left is Matt Elliots daughter. Dont quote me on that though

If we don't start scoring then there's only one outcome to this season. Preferred that to not creating chances at all, which I've been used to for months and indeed years. I found it as frustrating as anyone but at least we gave it a go and attacked with purpose. I enjoyed that game more than one or two games we've won this season to be honest (Barnsley at home springs to mind). Yes it's frustrating that we don't have an in-form striker who we can rely on for goals but that is patently obvious so it's no surprise when we don't score. Having said all that, today was the day that actually tipped me over the edge in terms of expectations. I fully expect we will be relegated now. If you don't win those games then you will have games where you won't create an awful lot and will lose, especially as we only have four home games left this season and still have to travel to WBA and Stoke where we won't be expected to get anything. We are running out of games to go into optimistically. It would be a shame but it's not the end of the world. Football is cyclical and we would be back. I quite fancy a season of away games in League One at the moment. I can't guarantee I'll always feel like that but we're all going to die one day and presumably Leicester City will carry on without us so you might as well try and take some pleasure out of it if you can, especially if your life revolves around it as in my case.
Milky Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I believe the third one in on the left is Matt Elliots daughter. Dont quote me on that though I think it is yes. One of them is anyway.
Tilley Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 I think it is yes. One of them is anyway. Then it is the third one in on the left. I thought it looked like her. Jade Elliot.
Leicester-Fox Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 Taking DJ and Hume off for Hayles and Mattock at that point in the game, with the pace taking their pants down had to be one of the worst mangement decisions i've ever seen. Agree about DJ as he looked good today. Hume was off the pace all game. Why does everyone think Fryatt is a god? The guy is average at best and his scoring record for Leicester makes average flattering.

You're Clemence hating is starting to annoy me now, especially when what you've put is utter guff. As for the saecond bit, well Holloways makeshift team has absolutely hammered the team top of the league but he is tactically below shit? Am i the only one that doesnt take this chap seriously?
David Guiza Posted 8 March 2008 Posted 8 March 2008 How long till Hume gets dropped if you ask me he seems not to care recently and i think dropping him will benefit us and himself . The problem being we have no-one else to play wide while clemence is out and hendrie is replacing him . And i also think Hendo played o.k today flapped twice but didnt do much wrong , Hopefully he wont repeat his performance at southampton again
