Great Performance, our lack of goals will probably be what puts us down though.

Ollie has clearly lost it IMO, we all have opinions and many on here don't rate Hume or Campbell but taking them off for Fryatt and Hayles was the worst tactical move i think Ollie's ever made!!

What, even more than keeping Clemence as captain?

Hendrie yesterday did everything Clemence should be doing (when he's fit), but all too often isn't.

We need him and Etuhu to play well in the forthcoming two away games. If we can't win in either of those games our fate may well be sealed.

What a load of crap.

What happens if we lose those 2 games and win the rest? I think we might be safe then! OK, its unlikely but you can't say our fate is sealed until it is mathematically impossible that we can survive!

some of the chances we missed were unbelievable. e.g. Huuuuuume- wtf was that.

i went with my mate who glory supports Liverpool and i was embarrassed by the chances we missed.

As 0-0's go this was a stormer, much better than Preston and we looked a decent side.

Decent atmosphere too well in L1 it was.

HANDBALL!!!!

:crylaugh: Made me laugh that did. Was pretty good in L1. Been abit crap recently but fans soon get behind the team when they are playing well.

Shit happens, and it happens all the time for us.

After reading through match reports, interviews and comments on this forum; I can't believe we yet again didn't get what we deserved. This is the 2nd time within a week that an opposition manager claims his team's luck for getting away from the Walkers with something. It really feels like we are doomed, and it really doesn't matter what we do, as we can't do nothing about it anyway.

Remaining positive is extremely hard, but we still have 9 games and 27 points to fight for. Now let us bloody fight for them.................!!!!

thought we played better than the games against cov and norwich yesterday,

just didn't take the chances.

Really enjoyed the game, just getting very worrying,

I had Ian Hume first goalscorer. What a joker.

I love Lee Hendrie.

Anyway good performance from the team, need to score in these sorts of games, im sure if we had got one we would have got more. Lee Hendrie and MAtt Oakley played well, though Oakley did better with the responsibility and beeing away from Clemence. Hendrie is just class, i think this lad will play an important role from now until the last game. If he stays fit. An Okay atmosphere in the second half, god knows how Bristol City are top, quite scary to be honest. See you all on Tuesday

So much better without that shitty drum.

Yeah that's his downside.

We desperately need a good set-piece taker.

Shush!! :nono:

Shush!! :nono:

Yeah I realised straight after posting lol

But what I meant originally was a set-piece taker worthy of a first team place. But we don't want to go there do we? lol

In my opinion we play alot better without clemence which i think is highly over rated .Oakley or Kisnorbo should be captian and clemence left out

All the mocking in the world doesn't change the reality that Shush! has been desperately missed for his chance creation and the goals that resulted.

I warned when the decision was made that we needed to replace the goals he was responsible for and to get more goals from the wings and from central midfield.

We've done none of those things and while you could argue that we've been unfortunate on occasions we've also contributed to our own undoing with our wasteful finishing, bny playing insufficient potential scorers and by failing to commit more people into attack in an effort to force a result.

Despite all the new signings we have no-one new to frighten the opposition. People were quick to mention Shush's faults but they don't mention that Clapham is NEVER going to offer his threat despite playing consistently well as a defender/support player.

The Hungarians, Hume and Mattock won't score many or even make many from the wings and while Etuhu suggested he might be creative he doesn't strike me as a goalscorer.

So bearing in mind our top scorer now plays on the wing and our second top scorers have just three League goals each to their names, where can the goals be expected to come from?

With many of the bottom teams predictably starting to win more games, draws are of very little use to us because it looks very likely that the normal safety guide of anything over a point a game won't apply this season.

Therefore, whether it means increasing the risks we take or not we must expect to adjust our tactics if necessary to use far more potential scorers in the side and it is that increasing need which has shown up the sheer folly of not keeping Shush! and Gradel as options, of not using King and of not going three at the back sometimes to increase our attacking drive.

As the games run out of course the nervousness factor will get worse. Five of our last nine games are away and a brilliant result at Cardiff was immediately negated by failing to win either of two home games we dominated. It's a form of professional suicide and it is imperative Holloway realises it is not just down to bad luck or bad refs. It is down to what we do.

There really is no reason we shouldn't win seven of our last nine games at least but we won't do so by leaving things to chance. We have to be strong enough to do something about our shortcomings and make sure we do get the two goals a game that will rescue our season from disaster. That means having six or seven players in the team who can score.

Otherwise it will be far too easy for opposition teams, some of whom will be equally desperate, to negate our attack and either spoil for a draw or rely on a classic smash and grab like Preston.

Thrac give it up, he isn't better then either Mattock or Clapham at left back and hasn't got the pace to play left wing

Mattock and Clapham aren't helping us to score goals as far as I can see.

Twenty-six appearances for Mattock since his debut last season and he still hasn't scored and has perhaps had one assist though I can't remember it.

He's nothing more than a promising left-sided "hand" at the moment and Clapham, rock-steady and reliable as he's been, has also offered not the slightest threat going forward.

To a point I like both players but neither make enough happen for me and our team has far too many players who fit into that category. Even if we need a 3-0 win to stay up in our last game I'm convinced some people would prefer us to stick with what we are so obviously continuing to do wrong than to risk attacking with attitude.

To me that's like voting for the same political party whatever they do and whatever mess they make of the country.

hi, i am a bristol city fan (as you can see) i've only signed up to the foum to say congratulations on an outstanding performance today, the wind made for a difficult game for both teams. leicester certainly have great potential. a great club too, except the minority that don't know that there's a big body of water between bristol and wales. nice ground, expensive pies, nice atmosphere....best of luck for the rest of the season.

but doing a better job of preventing them

strangely they are mainly defenders and are doing a defensive job. If you are worried about our lack of goals and creating them, then blame the forwards and the mids not the defenders.

I didnt know whether to laugh or cry after Sats game(Thats nothing to do with what happened in the Pub with Fez and Ormo!!!0

We should have hammered them.

We had SO many chances to Score and that was the positive aspect of the game.

BUT the inability TO score is VERY VERY worrying.

No matter who is upfront,we just cant bang it in.

Its no use having chance after chance if we cant get the fcuker in.

The only thing was,i was waiting for them to go up and take all 3 point in the 90th minute.

So atleast we learned form Tuesdays game!!!

We NEED to Score QUICK!

After the 4-0 Norwich 'rout' we've gon backwards again!!!

If we go backwards any further we'll be back in the Brian Little days!!!

Perhaps that AINT so bad!!!! >_<

Up the Shitty!!!!

And therein lies our biggest mistake and one of the biggest mistakes generally made in football - the idea that a lack of goals is down only to midfielders and forwards.

It's not.

And underneath the fans know it too. They wouldn't for a minute put up with an attacker who, having lost the ball, did nothing to win it back or to become the first line of defence.

But they don't seem to apply the same logic to defenders.

Our defence has been marginally tighter since Clapham's arrival but our defence wasn't conceding many before that - indeed it was the second best in the League even then. But in five of the seven games he's games he's featured we've failed to score.

The reality is that defenders should be very much part of the scoring/creating process. And not just the full-backs.

Look how much we've missed the goals of McAuley and Kisnorbo this season. Twelve they scored last season in League and Cup. Five the total this year and we've hardly noticed them overall in an offensive sense.

Take those seven goals away and the seven first half of the season goals/assists of Shush! and you get a picture of just how valuable defenders can be in boosting our goals for column because those missing 14 goals would unquestionably have kept us way clear of trouble especially as one goal in any game would have made such a difference to our record.

This isn't reactionary comment. I've talked for three seasons about how vital it is to have scorers/creators in every part of the team.

Having non-productive defenders AND too many non-productive central and wide midfielders is one dof two root causes of our crisis.

The other is failing to use our strikers consistently enough and effectively enough to get a proper goals return from them.
