Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 in the UEFA cup! Because they are Welsh and the FA Cup winner's slot is for an ENGLISH team. A little unfair, when you consider that Cardiff could probably qualify EVERY year by entering the Welsh Cup and winning that.

It was their choice and I doubt they ever thought they were in with a chance of winning so I can't see what the problem is!

Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 March 2008 Author Posted 10 March 2008 True. About as likely as Berwick winning the SFA Cup (and presenting a similar problem) What happens when Monaco win the French Cup?
Bryn Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 True.About as likely as Berwick winning the SFA Cup (and presenting a similar problem) What happens when Monaco win the French Cup? Monaco is an entirely different matter, as there is no Monegasque Football Association like there is a Welsh one.
act smiley Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Monaco winning the French competitions is different because Monaco doesn't have any UEFA places as far as I know? A good comparison is FC Vaduz of Lichtenstein, who always go into the UEFA Cup from winning the Lichtenstein Cup but can't go into the Champions League from winning the Swiss League. With Wales, they give their UEFA Cup spot to the Welsh Cup which only Welsh League sides play in, rather than the Premier Cup (which is between Welsh Premier sides and the English League teams), so they won't get into Europe.
purpleronnie Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Cardiff won't win it anyway. Dunno got a good draw.
Finnegan Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 Cardiff have as good a chance as anyone else left in, tbh. I wouldn't really like to make a bold statement as to anyone winning. But I sort of agree with "they made their choice." It's the major reason Celtic and Rangers won't ever come to the Premiership.
