morris1234 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 at minimum she needs to get her songs on myspace i know a few people personally that have been discovered and there are people like kate nash who was discovered i think by lethal bizzle and kano she also went to the brits school so that might have helped. sorry i dont really know anything else but i don know a few people that have been disocvered so just tell her to keep trying!

It's not a case of pick and mix, she has to blanket it.Get the networking site done today, get some graphics in the pipeline to add to it and then add a website so that people can download stuff. She has to gig so that A&R can get an impression of her potential, live. Finally, just sending CD's to people has had its day...but doorstepping decision makers never went out of style if she has looks and a personality. If she wants to send me a 4-track CD I may be able to do something with it, but it needs to have a decent production and be her strongest material. I have more cousins I'll send you a CD. 4 tracks? Sorted.

Cousin is not A&R, but may be able to push it down to them - he's a bloody nice bloke. Not one GCSE but he drives around in a car worth more than my house thanks to bands paying him their dues.

The CD drive on my computer here refuses to read any CDs at the moment so I'll have to wait till the accountant goes out at lunch (for his usual 2 hours) and jump on his machine. This is the only track I can put up at present, it's a few years old, she's since improved (partly by giving up smoking). Anyway, give it a listen.
