Lichfieldfox. Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 I hope I've not missed the start of another thread but just back from the match Henderson 7 Pulled off great save in first half, better kicking and clearly directing the defence Mattock 7 Sound defensively and looked good going forward Kisnorbo 7.5 Solid, kept cool vs Bednar who played like a thug...bit worried at half time as took ages to appear - thought he'd been sent off at HT McCauley 8 Great in air, good goal and several last ditch tackles in the box N'Gotty 7.5 Another solid display Stearman 8 This lad is sheer quality and was targetted by several WBA thugs. Moore's tackle on him was a disgrace and deserved a straight red Oakley 6 A bit off the pace for me, gave Greening too much space Hendrie 8.5 Did well, created hassled and harried, unlucky not to score. Won the penalty. Hayles 5 How did he get 90 minutes? Out of position but I would have taken off at HT. 1 good effort near the end Fryatt 8 Deserved a goal, denied by Kylie on a couple of occassions Howard 9 Hat trick deserves MOM, goals all laid on a plate for him Subs: Hume Not on long enough for rating Weso Not on long enough but got stuck in Etuhu Not on long enough - some nice tricks Ollie - Great result. Still round pegs in square holes. Fans 11 - excellent singing and support

Maybes Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 I hope I've not missed the start of another thread but just back from the match Henderson 7 Made a couple of nice saves. Perhaps could have done better with the goal? Mattock 7.5 Defensively good and supported left winger well. Kisnorbo 8 Very solid, bednar kept quiet. McCauley 8 Better than recent games. N'Gotty 7.5 Solid, even though he lacks pace. Stearman 7.5 Composed on the ball. Pleasing. Oakley 6.5 Fairly quiet for most of the game. Did ok though. Hendrie 9 This guy is class. He ripped the brom midfield to peices...oh and loved teasing the albion fans haha Hayles 7 Linked up well with other midfielders. Held ball well too. Fryatt 7.5 Tireless performance. Howard 9 Made up for his previous woeful displays today. Lethal finishing. Etuhu gets a special mention for teasing the albion defence before the final whistle haha. Dean Kiely = -6 He had a mare.
Maybes Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 The radio was praising Hayles right until the end. I thought he did well to be honest.
Bert Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Hendo 7 - Goal took a big defelction. Good save early on, always looked confident today. Stearman 7 - Always looked to help attack with some good overlaps, took a few whacks for the team, defending alright. Mattock 7.5 - Awesome crossing today, supported Hayles well, never shirked a tackle. Bruno 7.5 - We seem to be so much more confident with him, vital tackling and heading. McAuley 8 - Awesome in the air and on the deck, can't remember him being beat and a goal. Kisnorbo 8 - Loves the physical battle, well stuck in. Hendrie 8.5 - Brilliant, good passing, moving, harrying, and winds people up to great effect. Oakley 7.5 - Picked up the loose balls and sprayed them around, gave Hendrie the licence to do his biz. Hayles 7.5 - Worked hard, tracked back, played really well on the counter. Fryatt 7.5 - See big Baz. Howard 9 - Won everything, good knocks and touches and lethal finishing. The fans 10 - Briliant today, got behind the team from start to finish.
mat_j101 Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Henderson 6 He didnt really have a massive amount to do. Probably should have got a hand to their goal, and he noticed he flapped at a cross. Other than that fine Mattock 8.5 Very good display, one of the best games i think ive seen him have. He put some excellent crosses in, did well in defence, and the couple of times he made an error, he recovered very well. I though he was one of our best players today. Kisnorbo 7 Solid, understated performance McCauley 8 Very good, no mistakes, took his goal well. N'Gotty 7 Ok, looked a bit tired toward the end. After the sending off he was pushed forward into a holding role infront of the back four and did well, he broke up a lot of their attacks. Understated but decent. Stearman 7.5 Pretty good. I slated him around December time, but in the last few weeks he has impressed me. Im pleased to see him playing well again, although there are still times when i wish he would get down the gym a bit more to stop him getting pushed off the ball so easily. He played well though. Oakley 6 Not his best game - no mistakes, but then again wasnt really involved in much of the game. To quiet for my liking. Hendrie 9 Although Howard got 3, i would probably give him man of the match. He was great - nice through balls, made a few tackles, and really seemed to be trying to motivate the others today. One of the better performances by a leicester player this season imo. Hayles 6.5 At times he was good, but for nearly all the second half he looked tired to me, i couldnt understand why they didnt take him off about 10 mins in. Fryatt 7.5 Good game, although showed his lack of match practice in the last 20 mins by looking a bit tired and slow. Howard 8.5 Obviosuly 3 goals speaks for itself. Also made some nice flick ons, so pleasing performance. Manager: 8. Tbh, i thought 4 goals flattered us, but we did deserve a win. Ollie did good in pushing Bruno forward a bit after the sending off, although when it was 2-1, i thought he should have brought Hume on for Hayles so we had a fresh pair of legs who would chase the ball etc, but who cares in the end!!
filbertboy Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 I didnt go today but am made up with the positives from todays game. The ratings are brill ! Well done to city and all the fans who went and cheered them on.

Tilley Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Henderson 7 - Didnt have a lot to do but did well to save Albrechtsons chance from the corner. Myabe could have done better with the goal. Stearman 7 Kisnorbo 8 McAuley 8 Bruno 8 Mattock 7 Oakley 7 Hendrie 8 - Man of the match! Looked passionate and always getting the players and fans going. Sign him up. Hayles 7 Fryatt 7.5 - See what happens when you give him 90 mins. Didn't score but played well. Fiar play Howard 9 - Well done. Shut up his critics!
Bryn Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Hendrie 9 Although Howard got 3, i would probably give him man of the match. He was great - nice through balls, made a few tackles, and really seemed to be trying to motivate the others today. One of the better performances by a leicester player this season imo. He seemed very enthusiastic against Bristol City, trying to give the players and the fans a lift. He's impressed me.

Mikey Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Hendo - 7 - Comfortable Stearman - 7.5 - Did well, sound defensively and pushed up well. Mcauley - 8 - Won everything in the air, good tackles and a goal. Kisnorbo - 8 - So good in a physical battle, good to have him back. N'Gotty - 7.5 - A bit more than solid. Mattock - 7 - Did well, got turned a few times. Oakley - 7 - Strong in midfield, passed well and tackled hard. Hendrie - 9 - Brilliant performance. Ripped them to shreds through the midfield. Also love the gestures after goals and the sarcastic wave as he went off to the Albion fans Fryatt - 7.5 - Worked hard, sometimes panicked. Good control of the ball. Howard - 8.5 - Woeful first half I thought. Second was totally different, good flick ons, and took his goals superbly. Ollie - 9 - Bit bewildered by his selection today, proved me wrong though. Fans - 10 - Absolutely fantastic, brilliant support throughout the game with non stop singing. Well Done City !

Simi Posted 15 March 2008 Posted 15 March 2008 Wasn't at the game today unfortunetly, but could someone tell me what Hendrie and Etuhu done to wind their fans up? Hendrie was winding them up with some of his tackles, plus the fact he played for Villa. Also he ran in front of there fans at the end, celebrating. Etuhu was showboating in the corner at the end winding there players and fans up!
