He says he's still planning on the full, but it depends on his fitness.

I shall only do the half. Wuss.

INJURY NEWS

A spokesperson confirmed that after extensive medical treatment, Lisa will be taking part in this weekends' marathon. "Lisa was bitterly disappointed to have twisted her knee, but she wants to thank the team for the support and treatment. Lisa is more determined than ever to complete the 26.2 mile course".

Lisa was not available for comment due to the copious amounts of pasta she is currently consuming.

If I ran a half marathon with a minging hand then you can definitely run a marathon a week after you twisted your knee.

They're definitely similar injuries, and both equally as detrimental to running.

OK Lisa, I chipped in a fiver--it sounds modest, but with the U.S. Dollar struggling, the American economy slumping and any fees that may be applied, that's about two or three months of work!

Question time: I run and I go between 2-4 miles four or five times per week... I'd like to get in good shape for racing and would like to do a couple of 5k races this summer. When I run for four miles, though, the bones in my feet feel like they're about to crack somewhere around 3.25 miles. (even with my new sneakers, which were hand-picked by an expert who studied the arch of my feet, my stride and all that good stuff). How are you (or any marathoner, for that matter) able to go for such a long distance on road without breaking your feet?? :dunno:

I am by no means a running pro; this is my first (and last) marathon. I can't say I get any foot pain. Either I'm lucky or it's down to the footwear. I have seen it somewhere that insoles or inserts are good, but I don't do anything in particular.

It may sound strange, but have you thought about seeing a chiropodist? You may have stress fractures, and all you need is a bit of rest. :dunno:

You need to goto a specialist running shop who can evaluate your running style(ie Overpronating etc...!)

The Running Fox in Loughboro' have a running machine which videos your running style and they recommend trainers accordingly

( i realise that Running Fox maybe a bit far for you to travel!!!!) :)

I go for Reebok Premier Lite for cushioning as i need it for my brittle old bones.

Reeboks cut my feet up. I get on with New Balance and Brooks best.

Preparations are going well, but I am so tired! Hardly doing a thing this week, and I think it's all caught up with me!

I have done bugger all this week, and it is strange. Feel like I need to go on a long run. :blink:
