Lee Hendrie had a great game. He was pumped up by the stick he was getting from West Brom fans, being an ex-Villa player, so he was like a man possessed.

I'd love to sign him permanently if I could. The amazing thing is that he ripped his heels to shreds in the game and his feet were covered in blisters, so he hasn't been able to train all week.

That must have been killing him but he didn't let it show and I think that shows he's made of the right stuff.

The problem Lee Hendrie has is motivation, if he can stay motivated then he's one of the best midfielders in this league all day long. It's when he can't be arsed is when he comes unstuck and I fear that a permanent deal here might lead to him taking the foot off the gas and under-achieving. It's a risk worth taking though, I was gutted we didn't get him in the summer. I just hope Holloway really get's through to Hendrie and can get him here permanently and that he stays fired up.

He'll demand high wages and once his agent has sorted that out the bloke will go back to his ''I cant be arsed'' mode. And then we'll have 31 year old who's more injured than Carl Cort.

I like the lad and think he's an exceptional player but I just can't help but be sceptical about him coming her permanently.

Quality is hard enough to come by in this division and turning our noses up to him would be madness. He proved at Stoke and is doing so here that he is a great player in this division. I genuinely believe that he can change our sides play from drab to ok just like Izzet did.
