clazkel Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Lee Hendrie is a brave man going out in Brum. Yeah i second that, there were quite afew west brom fans who wanted to rip his head off, especially the men who ran forward in the stand to our right. They got stopped by the stewards! We have gotta sign Hendrie, he has soo much enthusiasm and passion, something we have missed for a long time! I've just been reading up about him as i know he is classed as abit of a 'bad boy', and i hope he stays out of trouble
C-man Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Yes that is mine. I did nick it directly from your sig.

melrose Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 very random this.I was leaving an afterhours bar in Birmingham last night around 5am and saw Lee Hendrie by the door. He clocked me looking at him and must of realised I was gonna talk to him (I imagine he must get a lot of stick from punters) I shook his hand and before I said anything he said 'Im f**cked mate' I just said 'Leicester fan, front row today, very happy, sign for us' he laughed, said cheers and that he didn't expect to see a Leicester fan in the middle of a Brum nightclub at 5am. And that was that, all very hazy as I was a bit battered too. I live 5 mins away from West Brom ground so yesterday was a good day! Where's that place in brum? I could do with getting in there myself.
James. Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 I'm so pleased my initial concerns about singing Hendrie have so far appeared misplaced. If he can maintain the impact he has had so far and we sign him on a decent contract I think he'll be absolutely pivotal in any progress we make next season and beyond.
Ric Flair Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 The problem Lee Hendrie has is motivation, if he can stay motivated then he's one of the best midfielders in this league all day long. It's when he can't be arsed is when he comes unstuck and I fear that a permanent deal here might lead to him taking the foot off the gas and under-achieving. It's a risk worth taking though, I was gutted we didn't get him in the summer. I just hope Holloway really get's through to Hendrie and can get him here permanently and that he stays fired up. He's Blue, He's Small He's a genius on the ball Lee Hendrie, Lee Hendrie Dance, Dance, Wherever you may be We've got the maestro that is Lee Hendrie And he'll lead us now from out the bottom three And he'll lead us now all the way to safety
Danglo Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Where's that place in brum? I could do with getting in there myself. Bushwackers - you get a few Bham/Villa/Baggie luminaries in there on a Sat night, normally worse for wear. A certain Luke Moore was there waitin to be let in a few weeks back

Raj Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 He's a skinny twat. He's a skinny twat. he s a skinny,He's a skinny...he's a skinny twat!!! As an aside. My mate has met him a few times and reckons he is ACTUALLY a bloody decent fella. Top player!

Yeah, i agree with you, at the minute he is fired up because we are playing to stay up (and against West Brom because their fans were giving him stick) but i could imagine him getting complacent. If Ollie can keep him fired up then he would be a great signing. Apparently in the 2006/07 season he was on loan at Stoke and was a fans favourite, but what worries me is why they didn't sign him. I'm soo glad he's at Leicester and i think he will be part of the reason why we stay up (Lets hope). I was really impressed with his enthusiasm on Saturday.
Kilworthfox Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 We need a song for him. I will work on something with Amy Bruce and Jade Goody in it

Fatbloke Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Lee is a quality player who alway`s looks to play the ball forward, he also get`s beyond the strikers for efforts on goal, his enthusiasm is infectious and we would like to keep him here, it is, of course out of our hands, if he`s not for sale, he`s not for sale !

I'm as enthusiastic about Hendrie as anyone - proper footballer if he stays motivated and focused. However, to me, that story doesn't quite say that he wants to stay, just that he it's "definitely something he'd think about", which is not quite the same as the headline. To me it suggests he likes it here and failing an even better option, he certainly wouldn't mind staying here.
Fox You Forest Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Sheff U only got him in the summer for 1.6m i think, he's playing well here so there gonna try and get most of that back if they can will MM be willing to pay that much, Who knows.

Nah it was a free transfer. The contract he is on is worth about £1.5m, and if Sheff Utd don't want him they'll be more than happy to offload that wage.

Just what we need at the moment. Would love to see what a fully motivated Hendrie could do, given a full season for us. Hendrie would fit perfectly into a 3 man midfield with Robbie Savage and Steffan Freund, abosolutely loathed by opposing fans but loved and revered by the team he played for. A midfield like this would fit perfectly into a team managed by Colin willy puller.
Cobbo Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Excellent news that he wants to stay - he's showed real passion already - we should definately snap him up. Bit of quality in our ranks will make a change.
Flynny Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 Sign him up, make him captain, win promotion next season. Easy as that. Bish bash bosh.

'right lee go to leicester play well, make them interested in you, come back and we'll sell you for mmmmmmmmmm i dont know its up for negotiation but somewhere in the region of 935556664200090.99 billion gazillion million pounds!

It's in his own hands. He could stick in there like Douglas and even play out his contract if he chooses. Sheffield gave him the contract. He won't have any obligation to move anywhere, for any price, if he doesn't want to. If we sign him, of course, we'd have the same problem if he dropped out of the team for whatever reason.
Joe. Posted 21 March 2008 Posted 21 March 2008 I'm very pleased about this. Hendrie has impressed since he came here and he certainly isn't shy to put some work in. I'll be very happy to see him join us permanently in the summer if we could get hold of him, I think it's definitely a more than likely possibility.
